Lord of the Rings Voice Compares

Voice Compare » Superman » Bizarro

Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Bizarro with sound clips and images.
Bizarro is the imperfect duplicate and antagonist of Superman, who made his first appearance in Superboy #68 (1958). There have been many versions of Bizarros after his debut. Pre-Crisis, a scientist accidentally used a duplicator ray on Superman, which created the flawed copy of him. One Post-Crisis origin was that Lex Luthor ordered the science division of LexCorp to create a clone of Superman but the clone was flawed and escapes. Another Bizarro was created by The Joker who had stolen Mr. Mxyzptlk's powers, made to be the Joker's version of Superman. All versions of Bizarros have the abilities of Superman, though some have Superman's 'inverted powers' such as freeze vision and heat breath.

Ah, Bizarro. The backwards speaking, backwards thinking copy of Superman. All of them did great portraying Bizarro. My favorites are Tim Daly, George Newbern, and John DiMaggio.

Considering he play a character a reference to Bizarro (Benzarro), I'd like to hear Yuri Lowenthall take a crack at Bizarro

Fred Tatasciore should voice Bizarro in the same movie he voices Superman!

Am I the only one who got some enjoyment out of David Kaye's Bizarro?

"This look like a job for Bizarro! Quick! Look over there!"

I like David Kaye's Bizarro. It was pretty good. George Newbern's the best alas of now, but I might change my vote to Tim Daly if he voices Bizarro again using his Superman voice.

I like Michael Donovan. I kinda like that they had a different guy play him than played Superman. I haven't seen that movie yet, but I like his deep voice for Bizarro.

I do like George Newbern and Bill Callaway quite a bit, too. Tim Daly was also good.

I like Michael Donovan's voice, but my problem was that they kept switch back and forth between him meaning the opposite of what he meant and meaning exactly what he said. He even did both in the same sentence.

"Me HATE toys, that's why me SAVE you!"

Then he saves toyman. I kept getting drawn out because I was tying to figure out which times he was doing bizarro speak and which he wasn't.

David Kaye's... meh. I wonder how he'd do in a serious portrayal, but I'm sticking with George Newbern.

1. Bill Callaway - I can never get his deep voice and stilted delivery out of my head when I read Bizarro.
2. George Newbern - Very solid and entertaining take on Bizarro. One of the best.
3. Joe Mandia - A terrific Bizzaro, and one of the better performance there.
4. Tim Daly - Really good. Sounds totally mentally challenged.
5. John DiMaggio - He's okay, but I don't really buy the stupidity for some reason.
6. Danny Dark - He sounds like Norm from "Phineas and Ferb". For the Bizarro he plays, I think that works.
7. David Lodge - Generic and even a bit too scary sounding.
8. Sean O'Kane - TOTALLY wrong! I mean, WAY off the mark!

George Newbern=Best Bizarro so far XD

I know everyone will start punching me for this, but I kinda like Danny Dark. He made Bizarro sound like a very innocent yet dangerous character. I mean, the episode in which he appears is pretty much an over-the-top episode, so I had fun with Danny as Bizarro #1. He never perfected his landing (hence the reason why he breaks the floor when he lands), he had a "Hall uv just us" complete with a lot of Bizarro Supermen and made me laugh a lot. I'm so sorry, but I really feel like Bizarro right now, because I feel like the only one that likes Danny. This campy episode establishes Bizarro as a well-meaning but twisted superhero.

"Look, It am our most famous Superhero!!!" XD

@Starscreamsfan I actually think so too. Plus, he sounds almost exactly like Norm the robot man from "Phineas and Ferb", which is hilarious!

Bill Callaway- Callaway has a moderately deep voice that works for the character and has gotten the speech pattern down well enough but its nothing great. 5/10
Danny Dark- No deep voice, sounds like he doesn't care at all, sounds too happy, one of the worst villain performances I've ever heard. 1/10
Tim Daly- While basically doing his superman voice just a little gruffer and dumber, he does okay with the role, but again nothing special. 6/10
George Newbern- Not only does he sound almost nothing like his superman performance, but he has a great stupid voice for the character, and I didn't even know it was him at first. 8/10
John DiMaggio- He sounds Russian, and while I like DiMaggio, I feel he could've done a little better with the role but it isn't bad, I just feel John could've added a little more to it. 6/10
David Lodge- I LOOOOVE how Lodge sounds, I just wish he was given more to work with so I have to give him a 7/10 and nothing higher.
Joe Mandia- Mandia has the dumb deep sounding voice and speech pattern, but at points he talks like a robot so I don't know what was up there. 5/10
Sean O'Kane- same exact thing with Danny Dark. 1/10

I think all of them did good, with the exception of Sean O'Kane and Danny Dark. Both of them aren't very good and their acting comes off as just extremely poor. My favorite would have to be George Newbern.

Sean is the worst, he just sounds silly (and the look of Bizarro is even sillier, that Bizarro #1 isn't helping) the "hello" at the end of his clip is just so random
said at 3:56 PM on Mon Apr 22 2013
@Music Meister Sean sounds like a parody of a stupid superhero. And when he says ME TIRED I just think car commercial.

The best ones are Daly, Newbern, Dimaggio, Callway, and Mandia. Lodge I can't quite understand and Dark seems to be a different kind of Bizarro altogether.

I really don't care for George Newbern as Bizarro. The fact that he went from a sympathetic character to a pawn of Luthor/Grodd doesn't help either.

Tim Daly gets my vote.
said at 10:14 AM on Mon Jul 16 2012
@TheVengeanceKnight They gave a reason why he was a pawn though

@TheVengeanceKnight The fact that he's basically trying to copy Daly's voice doesn't help either.

@pete I wouldn't say he copied his voice at all really. In fact, they both sound very different
said at 2:29 PM on Mon Jul 16 2012
@AMT I don't mean directly. I mean he used Daly's voice as an inspiration for his own so he'd have and idea on how to make his Bizarro sound he probably dod the same with other Va's that played him like William Callaway..

Like with his Superman role, I found Tim Daly to be a bit dull with Bizarro, its not bad, but its not exactly a memorable or distinct voice.

George Newbern, I guess is my favorite Superman, Bizzaro or not XD

John DiMaggio was also pretty good!
said at 9:15 PM on Thu Jul 19 2012
@AMT To be honest, I actually agree with you. I find Daly's Superman and Bizarro rather overrated at the very least.
