Voice Compare » Super Mario Bros. » Yoshi
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Yoshi with sound clips and images.
EDITOR'S OPINION
Ah Yoshi everyone's favorite little green Dinosaur that has been quite the regular in the series ever since the first SNES game namely Super Mario World. And speaking of which his debut into North American animation is namely the Super Mario World animated series voiced by Andrew Sabiston. It might seem strange for him to be voiced by a guy but Andrew does do a fairly convincing cutesy higher voice so I am willing to give him credit for that. When it comes to Canadian Voice Talent Mr. Sabiston has been doing this for years but hasn't had that many roles at all let alone memorable ones. But still I would say that Yoshi in the SMW animated series is probably Andrews best work.
Now as for the games we have one of Nintendo's music composers Kazumi Totaka whom has been voicing Yoshi ever since Yoshi's story. Now normally we don't use Japanese Voice talent in BTVA's Voice compares since its kind of hard to understand Japanese audio clips but all things considered I think we can make an exception here. While Yoshi usually only says his name, Kazumi does do a lively performance for Yoshi's energetic personality with a very fitting voice.
So I must say both sides do definitely fit their respective roles for sure.

It would be funny if you guys also had sound clips of Yoshi's "SFX" voice from the 1990s.

Kazumi's voice really nails the character. So I'm voting for him.

Kazumi Totaka obviously. I'm not going to even bother explaining why.

1. Kazumi Totaka - Do I need a reason?
2. Andrew Sabiston- His Yoshi voice was hilarious!
My personal favorite, however, is his voice from Mario Kart 64, which I've heard is Isaac Marshall, but I don't know for sure.

I have a plush Yoshi by BD&A
I made him talk with a high pitched squeaky voice when I found him in the animal shelter!
Oh I'm very good with voice acting!
Who's with me?
All in favor to fan voices say aye!

...the voice actors for Yoshi were males? I would never have thought!
I personally prefer Kazumi's voice, mostly because I've grown so used to it but also because it fits pretty darn perfect to it's character too!

I'll have to go with Kazumi because the talking version with the speech impediment is annoying, I don't know if you want to add the live action movie version if you want to count it he didn't talk but the noises he made were provided by Frank Welker.
