Voice Compare » Super Mario Bros. » Mouser

Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Mouser with sound clips and images.
Mouser is one of the various enemies that Mario and friends must face in the Super Mario Bros series. Mouser is a resident of Subcon who fights his enemies with bombs and serves the evil ruler Wart. Mouser originated from Super Mario Bros 2/Doki Doki Panic however unlike certain other enemies such as the Shy Guys Mouser was only in that game (and its new re-releases such as Super Mario Advance). However while Mouser was one of Wart's minions in Super Mario Bros 2 Mouser was one of Bowser's minions in the Super Mario Bros Super Show since Wart did not appear in the show.

EDITOR'S OPINION

Today on the Super Mario Bros VC section we have a little something for one of the enemies from Super Mario Bros 2... MOUSER! We shall actually begin this with the Super Mario Bros Super Show as John "Toad" Stocker is the voice of Mouser in this series. John's attempt at a nasally voice for the role is a little different from what one would normally hear for a nasally voice for a mouse but it does work for the role pretty well. John Stocker played the role of Mouser as a good old fashioned villainous underling whom can go from arrogant to a suck-up to cowardly and pulls it off fairly well. So basically John Stocker's performance as Mouser is another pretty good example of the voice work of the Super Mario Bros Super Show.

In the early 2000's Mouser surprisingly gets another chance to have an English voice with the GBA game Super Mario Advance in which he was voiced by Charles Martinet. Charles' voice for Mouser did have a rather suitably nasally voice for the role (even if it didn't sound really different from his Tryclyde voice) but still it does work fairly well for the role. Granted Charles is at a bit of a disadvantage since Mouser like all the other characters had about a couple of lines and a few pained grunts and that was it but still Charles did OK with the role. Overall both of these guys did alright with the role but I am going with John Stocker a bit more.

John Stocker is good, but Martinet is more mouse-like.

Charles Martinet's raspiness worked perfectly for Tryclyde, but for Mouser, not so much; in this case, I have to go with John Stocker.

I'm going with John Stocker here, Charles Martinet just sounds WAY TOO much like his Luigi voice. Though to be fair, he was a good Wart.

Charles Marnet is pretty stereotypical for that sort of character, but it really does fit a bomb-throwing mouse.
