Voice Compare » Street Fighter » Sagat
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Sagat with sound clips and images.
Sagat is a Muay Thai champion and a rival of Ryu, who scarred him in the first tournament. Sagat is generally an honorable person and doesn't like when people fight with illegal tactics.
EDITOR'S OPINIONSagat, his stance as the Emperor of Muay Thai and/or his stance in his alignment in general might be a bit uncertain but he is still one of the most prominent Muay Thai practitioners in his respective genre.
In the North American Street Fighter Animated series he is voiced by Ocean Group VA Robert O. Smith. To be blunt this is lets just say not one of his best handiwork granted he is not a bad VA in general but at least out of the original "big four" for Shadaloo, Sagot got the weakest. But to be fair often enough Robert didn't exactly get the best lines as Sagat either as Internet Memes love to point out. But Robert does have some half way decent moments and there were worst in this show but there were certainly better as well.
VA Peter "Skybyte" Spellos voiced Sagat in Street Fighter 2, namely both Street Fighter II V and the Animated movie. (Though Sagat didn't really say all that much of anything in the movie though.) While Sagat may have had a considerably nicer role in II V Peter Spellos' voice and performance for Sagat was indeed fitting for the Proud Veteran Muay Thai Champ.
And last but not least is his current English VA namely Isaac C. "Incognito" Singleton Jr. in Street Fighter 4. Its pretty clear that Capcom wanted to go for deep and menacing in which Isaac did deliver however his performance is also suiting on how Sagat is feeling flat out uncertain about his life right now.
Overall I would go with Peter Spellos as my first choice, Isaac C. Singleton Jr. as a close second and Robert O. Smith at third.
