Street Fighter Street Fighter

Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Hugo with sound clips and images.
Franchise: Street Fighter

Hugo is an enormous pro-wrestler from Germany who first appeared in Second Impact, the second version of Street Fighter III. His reason for joining the tournament was to find a tag-team partner. He is based on Andore, an enemy from the game Final Fight, who is in turn based on Andre the Giant. Hugo's manager is Poison, another enemy from Final Fight.

I'm voting for the late Len Carlson on this one. Patrick's grunts sounded quite menacing, but his accent is a bit heavy, making his speaking voice difficult to understand.

Len Carlson's the best, Patrick Seitz was let down by bad direction and due to that it makes him sound too dumb.

All I got from Patrick Seitz's Hugo was this: apparently somebody at Capcom thought that it was a good idea to give Donald Duck an overdosage of steroids. This right here IS the result.

If he was on here, then I would've voted for Wataru Takagi. Then again, BTVA has standards, I guess...

The thing about Hugo is that he's supposed to be hard to understand when talking normally. The Japanese version did the same thing with Takagi, whose voice is reduced to mumbling when speaking in complete sentences and is actually harder to hear than the more consistent English portrayal by Seitz.

That said, Seitz has sounded exactly like Len Carlson since the trailers when he shouted (which is all Carlson really did) while also coming off as more authentic sounding.

@rosebr10 Yeah but's Seitz take just doesn't sound as powerful as Carlson, he just makes Hugo sound overly goofy with hardly any of the energy of Carlson's performance. Patrick Seitz is one of my favorite voice actors but the role should have gone to Fred Tatasciore.

I'm amazed Len Carlson did the voice for Hugo I was expecting it to be some Japanese voice actor like the late Daisuke Gouri putting on an accent. Show's how much range Len Carlson has. Out of the two Carlson wins, he sounds fearsome and when he says "I'm number one" it sounds like he truly believes it. The other voice makes him sound too dumb.
