VC thoughts update

Mike Donovan really delivered a great performance as Guile. He had quite a lot of energy, especially when he yelled "SONIC BOOOOM!!!" or "FLASH KICK!!!". He also managed to be warm at the right times.

Travis Willingham is also great in the role. He sounds like a leader and he really nails the battle cries as well. Overall, another good fit.

Kirk Thornton is also good, but honestly, compared to Mike and Travis, his Guile left little to no impression on me. There were also times where his performance would be a bit flat.

According to legend, one has to be man enough to fight with Guile, whose theme fits with everything. He'll tell you to get in the plane, go home and be a family man, or go home and be a schoolgirl - but the best part of all? His only weakness is the head bite. Speaking of family men from earlier, Travis Willingham is a natural fit for the Sonic Boom king. I can tell that Travis' Guile is serious, determined, and committed to his work while also tough, and Street Fighter V shows that this VA became better in the role than ever before. Kirk Thornton has a lot of potential as the character and certainly sounds decisive. Lastly there's Michael Don--- BISOOON! *cough* Last but not least there's Michael Donovan, who works for a relatively campier version of Guile pretty much. There are instances where Donovan doesn't sound quite right, but those blemishes aside, he's not too bad.

With that said, Travis Willingham Flash Kicks all the way to the finish line.

Kirk's sample quote should've been "Bison's ass is mine!" lmfao

That's a good takeaway line and really complements the character, but the first hospital scene was where Kirk's Guile really hit its mark, just like Lia's Chun-Li did in their previous scene together.

This is a tough one. Donovan is great in the role, he sounded strong and confident and he nailed every aspect of Guile (honor, discipline, justice, commitment). Thornton and Willingham are also quite good. If Donovan reprised his role in a more mature way, I think he would sound exactly like Thornton. Willingham was a perfect choice for Guile, he sounds tough and brave. Even though I voted for Donovan, I liked all these guys in the role.

@Starscreamsfan I still prefer Kirk but I do think Michael is underrated(only you voted for him) and I felt it's one of the best voice in the cartoon

Kirk Thorton, but Travis is a very close and nearly identical second. Michael Donovan is too corny, especially with his Jeff Bennett-esque screams.

@Galactic_Cyrus Jeff Bennett would actually make for an awesome Guile if you ask me.

#1 Travis Willingham
He nailed Guile's character and played his coolness well, netting him the prize. It goes without saying that this is one of Trav's better performances as well.

#2 Michael David Donovan III
He's the original and a bit more flexible, so I have to give him props for those.

#3 Kirk Thornton
He was all right I suppose, even though he's practically all over roles like this and more, but at least that shows he has good range.

He did but unfortunately I have yet to find ANY access to any of the episodes of the ADV dub of the series that's supposedly only available in Europe. (Which is kind of odd considering on how ADV is an American-based company whom does the European English dub, while Manga Entertainment whom did the US dub is from England.)

Oh yes and I liked all 3 of these performances rather well though I suppose if I had to pick it would be Kirk Thornton at least out of these 3.

Did Rob Mungle also voice Guile for Street Fighter II V or did we make a mistake?
