Lawrence Bayne is the best here. The others don't compare.

Does Bruce Robertson remind anyone else of Brice Armstrong?

He's my fav. Lawrence is really good too. Not a fan of Liam in this role.

I personally prefer Liam O'Brien. I think his acting is quite solid and he kinda gives an unsettling vibe to Gill.

Bruce Robertson has a very cool voice and good acting, but he feels a bit generic.

Lawrence Bayne has a good voice, but I find the delivery to be kinda stiff.

Lawrence Bayne is the best here. Gill is one of Street Fighter's best bosses & it's reflected in his performance.

Bruce isn't bad, but he's missing something. Liam O'Brien just sounds too normal when compared to the others.

I prefer Bruce more as Dudley tbh

The mark of his dignity shall scar thy DNA. Probably one of the most complex characters in the Street Fighter series, I feel that Gill has always been far cooler as a boss than either M. Bison or Seth, not to knock the mighty Bison or anything. Having voiced Gill in Street Fighter III: New Generation as well as Second Impact, Bruce Robertson's overall performance screams certified leader. Though not very distinctive and the voice itself is a bit light for someone of his aura, it's an above-average portrayal at the end of the day. Lawrence Bayne took over for Third Strike and perfected what Robertson started, sounding important while also doing a great job demonstrating that Gill's a villain with intentions which mean well. Bayne delivered an all-around unforgettable performance for this role.

Kudos to both men, though Lawrence Bayne is the blesser of all souls.

Oh, do I adore listening to Liam O'Brien's voice. Hearing his rendition of Gill, however, all's I can say for the moment is that the performance shows promise. In comparison to the others, O'Brien sounds a tad normal and not really robust. He's at a decent 3rd, and as I've said earlier, he has potential in the role.

Definitely voting for Lawrence Bayne, Bruce Robertson sounded...too high pitched for me.

@Metabad Actually, after remembering that Bruce Robertson was Rez, it actually kind of surprises me how high pitched he is here.

His acting is definitely great, maybe even better than Bayne's. But I feel Lawrence Bayne does better at providing a more distinct and memorable deep voice.

@Metabad Liam just sounds so bland and unmemorable. While I'm not sure if his voice could've come close to either Lawrence Bayne or Bruce Robertson, if he did something more like his Illidan he could've been so much better.

I think the thing I've realized is that Lawrence's Gill voice works because it manages to have a sense of nobility to it. Liam's Gill so far seems to be directed as a more straightforward "villain" type.

Like you said, and even I can think of other examples like Lezard Valeth, Liam can pull off angelic, ethereal-sounding voices. Something like that would be reeaaally cool for Gill. I really think it's a shame that, as good as it is, he usually gets hired to do the same voice.

@NCZ Just looked up Lezard Valeth, and yeah, that kind of performance would've been a lot better.

It really sucks when actors obviously have range but the directors pretty much prevent them from using it. That's pretty much the same problem I had with Dan Green back when he was voice acting. I don't want to get too off topic though, so I'll just say I completely understand where you're coming from in that regard.

Bruce Robertson wasn't too bad, but Lawrence Bayne was just epic.

Still sticking with Lawrence Bayne. I love Liam O'Brien, but Lawrence feels so much more identifiable with Gill specifically, whereas I associate Liam's voice here more with Kain or Lezard or Dist.

I didn't know that Gill had two different voices, this makes Gill the first SF3 character to get a voice compare
I'm going with Lawrence Bayne
