Dan Hibiki

Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Dan Hibiki with sound clips and images.
Franchise: Street Fighter

Dan Hibiki is a joke character from Street Fighter, designed as a jab at the Art of Fighting franchise. Dan is essentially a goofball and the weakest fighter in the whole series, despite believing he is the strongest in the world.

Personally, I think Ted Sroka's voice for Dan fits him better. It has a youthful, impulsive energy that suits his youthful, impulsive personality, and I wish Sroka in general would be in better directed work.

1) Bob Papenbrook
2) Ted Sroka

Dan Hibiki: he hates the Art of Fighting, but desires to be the King of Fighters. While the late Bob Papenbrook was definitely no Osamu Hosoi, he ended up being an overall better fit for the character than Ted Sroka. Sroka's not really half-bad, given that his acting potential is there and his general take manages to suit the master of the Saikyo Groove well personality-wise, but the voice itself sounds a little higher than necessary and comes off as annoying at times.

So yeah, Papenbrook it is, even though Sroka still didn't do too bad a job.

I'm going with Bob for this compare. Ted sounds really obnoxious to me.

Sorry but Ted sounds really annoying to me, Bob wins by default.

I'm going to say Bob Papenbrook because Bob Papenbrook.

Ted's pretty good, though.

Both are perfect, but the late Bob Papenbrook had the better voice, IMHO. Ted's a bit too high.

I'll have to be honest and say.... Papenbrook for this one. Despite Dan not having many lines in the movie (or so I'm told), I always thought that Bob was trying to sound more like Osamu Hosoi (Dan's original seiyuu) or Toshiyuki Kusada (Dan's current seiyuu).

Overall, campiness aside, I just don't feel that Sroka needs all the credit for this one. He has the right amount of potential, but I should stick to what FightersGeneration pointed out...
