 1 Shout Out!
1. Larry Ward: Perfect.
2. UVA (ANH): Close, but the voice is a little too high and gruff.
3. Kevin Michael Richardson: A little too recognizable, but he acts the part well.
4. David W. Collins: Voice is a little too high and he speaks too fast.
5. Clint Bajakian: He's deep, but it still doesn't seem right for Jabba, and he speaks too fast.
6. UVA (TPM): Not a fan. Kinda misses the mark.

I like Clint Bajakian's version the least. While the voice is there, the pace is a little to quick, I think.

All of them are great, it's hard to choose.

You'd think that in 2014, someone who works at LucasFilm would be able to find out who the UVAs are.

I have to go with Larry Ward since he was the originator of that laugh and that iconic laugh. Kevin is a great choice for him and I want to hear him play Jabba some more if possible.

I don't think that the UVA from The Phantom Menace is as good nor is Clint, but they're OK.

Also the version voiced by Clint looks like Peter Griffin. I can't be the only one to notice, can I?

@Polyester Funk I meant "Larry is the originator of that voice and that iconic laugh." I got ahead of myself and wrote laugh twice.

This is an easy voice to do, really. But Larry Ward, Kevin Michael Richardson, David W Collins, and the UVA for "A New Hope" pull it off with presence. The UVA for "Phantom Menace" and Clint Bajakian sound pretty bland, TBH.

@Galactic_Cyrus some sources say that both of the Unknown Voice Actors is just Larry Ward changing his voice, not sure if that's true or not but the one from "A New Hope" really sounds like him though.

Larry is number 1 but Kevin, Clint & David all sound just like him though.

The unknown voice actor I bet it's really Larry just tryin 2 make sound like some1 else.

I'm going with Kevin and the UVA. Larry was OK in my opinion.

"one who create"? Oh dear.

I like Larry Ward best, but I wonder if the two unknowns are actually the same person, considering the new scene for episode IV was made around the same time as episode I, and by the same studio.

@Dogman15 The remastered 20th anniversary edition was released in 1997 and The Phantom Menace was released in 1999. It's possible the Unknown VA recorded his scene for The Phantom Menace while recording the new scene in IV but considering the 2 year gap we can't be sure when they added Jabba in IV and even put him in The Phantom Menace so the decisions could have been made seperately and therefore they could be separate VA unless George or a staff member say otherwise.

Ultimately went with Kevin Michael Richardson. The others are good, but Kevin's actually showed some "humanizing" traits that make Jabba a better character.

Larry Ward is my favorite. From the clips here is sound like Clint Bajakian and David W Collins could have slowed down a little.

How come Frank Welker's Jabba isn't on here?
He voiced Jabba in a Muppet Babies episode

@MatthewC17 That's a parody. Not sure why Yoda got on here from that episode though.

i picked larry ward just because he did an amazing job and set the standard for this voice. Kevin Michael Richardson is a close second though.

It'll be David W. Collins for my vote. As FoxWolf said before me, he's a little deeper than both Larry Ward & Kevin Michael Richardson & sounds more threatening than both of them.

I'd pick Kevin Michael Richardson as an EXTREMELY close second place & Larry Ward as VERY close third place.

Not sure how true it is, but Jabba's voice in The Phantom Menace was also Larry Ward, according to the site Wookieepedia.

while a strange compare to judge since as you mentioned Jabba doesn't speak English, he does "act" enough to being able to pick someone.

I'll actually go with David Collins since his is a little deeper than Larry Ward's and sounds more threatening.

and congrats on your first VC Cypo!
