William Utay definitely captures the arrogant mad genius perfectly and for that he gets my vote.

Phillip Proctor is a really close second.

Thom Adcox Hernandez despite how young he sounds, he still shows spades of the arrogant genius in his delivery and tone. I sorta get what Greg Weisman was aiming for.

Jim Cummings is basically Winnie the Pooh and Tigger's voices combined and honestly I don't think he fits the role that well IMO. Also his delivery of "You Will FIGHT MY ROBUTTS!" sounds a lot like Scott McNeil's Dr. Wily (the anime OVA voice)

I'm voting for William Utay here.

BONUS: As I just mentioned above that Jim sorta sounds like Scott McNeil...how about Scott doing a varation of his Dr. Wily but more reserved sounding? If not maybe French Tickner, Ron Halder, Corey Burton, Dwight Schultz or Troy Baker?

For a while, I thought in Spectacular, it was Michael Rooker

@Lpfan120 O_O Never notice how much Thom sounded like a young Michael Rooker

William Utay and Phil Proctor are my favourites here.

Thom could work as a younger version of Tinkerer, but I really don't think he would fit in a more traditional version of the character.

Not really too keen on Jim's take either. A bit inconsistant and the voice is kind of strange.

I wonder if Paul Eiding would make a good Tinkerer?

1. William Utay - Natural and perfect voice and performance for this role.
2. Phil Proctor - A close second: he sounds appropriately pompous.
3. Thom Adcox Hernadez - Gets the smarmy intellectual tone down right but the voice is too raspy and young for the character.
4. Jim Cummings - I love Jim, but GEEZ, a mix of Pooh and Tigger for a villain? No way!

@Galactic_Cyrus Thom sounds like Klarion from Young Justice anyways LOL

@llawliet159 He was great as Klarion, though.

@Galactic_Cyrus I know, I didn't say he was bad as Klarion, though, but merely stating that Thom sounds like Klarion as Tinkerer haha

@llawliet159 I know. I think it's 'cause Greg Weisman created Gargoyles, Spectacular Spider-Man, and Young Justice, and he's fond of working with voice actors he's already used. Thom was great for Lexington and Klarion, but miscast in the role of Tinkerer IMHO.

@Galactic_Cyrus I love how he used Crispin Freeman, Kelly Hu, Josh Keaton, Steve Blum, Lacey Chabert, Peter MacNicol, Vanessa Marshall, Kevin Michael Richardson, Danny Trejo, Phil LaMarr, and etc for both series......LOL they're just really good voice actors in my opinion ^_^

@llawliet159 And they were all awesome in their roles in both. Thom is the only one where I wonder "C'mon, couldn't they have given him a better role?" when it comes to Tinkerer.

@Galactic_Cyrus if there were a season 3, that would've been possible :/ DAMMIT!

Personally I think Tinkerer is a pointless & useless villain no matter what but if I had 2 pick a favourite voice i'd go for William as he sounds more menacing than the rest.

Thom seems smarter & more intelligent which is why he is 2nd.

Phil did not bad while Jim is doing a cross between his Pooh & Tigger voices.

#1. Phil Proctor played a chilling Tinkerer, and with a name like Tinkerer, you need to do a damn good job to do that.
#2.Thom Hernandez. He sounds young and he is young in the comics, but that's not how he is in the comics, so it doesn't work.
#3. Jim is one of my favorite voice actors, but it's hard to take the villain seriously when he sounds like Winnie the Pooh.

I'm actually going with Phil Proctor. It's not in the clip, but you find a recording left behind by Tinkerer late in the game and I found some of what he said to be kind of chilling. It's spoilers, but let's just say Tinkerer loves the Fold.

Probably the odd duck here, but my favorite was Jim.

William Utay does suit how the character is portrayed in the comics and is my favorite of the bunch. Thom Adcox Hernandez isn't too bad and looking at the design, it kinda works as he's not as old as he is in the comics. Jim Cumming's Tinkerer isn't one of his better performances.

I like Spectacular Spiderman but Thom does not sound that good. I mean he sounds too young.
I am a huge fan of Cummings but he doesn't sound all that threatening and would sometimes go into Winnie the Pooh (normally I wouldn't count sounding like another role as a bad thing but this was different)
Proctor and Utay were good as they both did the old yet smart feel of Tinkerer. I like Utay a little more which sucks because I hate Web of Shadows

@Music Meister To be fair, SSM's Tinkerer is a younger version.

Okay, here's where the Spectacular Spider-man bias gets ridiculous. Thom sounds too raspy and well, young for the character. William Utay is a much better fit.
