Voice Compare » Spider-Man » Spencer Smythe
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Spencer Smythe with sound clips and images.
Spencer Smythe is an antagonist in the Spider-Man series whom made his comic book debut in The Amazing Spider-Man #25 in June of 1965. Spencer is the beloved father of Alistair Smythe and a brilliant scientist in the field of robotics in which he created the Spider Slayer robots to go after Spider-Man. The reason why Spencer has made the Spider Slayers differs upon the story he is in but the most traditional reason is that he believed the Anti-Spider man stories written by J. Jonah Jameson and wanted to aid JJJ to bring the web-head to justice. Spencer may seem like a anti-villain whom may even be sympathetic but whether he ends up becoming a flat-out villain or captured and/or killed depends on which story we are talking about here.
EDITOR'S OPINIONToday on the Spider Man VC section we take a look at the original creator of the Spider Slayers... SPENCER SMYTHE! Let us begin...
Henry Ramer- Henry's voice and performance does give off a fairly intellectual feel. Henry's performance does suit on how Spencer is not really a bad guy for wanting to help JJJ against Spidey even if he does come off as kind of opportunistic. Basically Henry's work on the role is a pretty good example of the voice work in the show.
Edward Mulhare- Edward's voice was a natural fit for an old scientist as his voice and performance does suit on how this is easily one of the more favorable depictions of Spencer around. Edward's performance does suit on how much of an Anti-Villain Spencer is in the show as while he built robots to capture Spider-Man but is doing this to help his son. Basically Edward's overall work on the role is a very good example of the voice work in the show.
Overall while Henry was not bad I am clearly going for Edward here.
