EDITOR'S OPINIONHere is a VC to one of Spiderman's allies (and this time one of his male allies) and this VC shall be for Hobie Brown otherwise known as... THE PROWLER! The Prowler's voice acted debut was in an episode of the 90's Spider Man series in which he was voiced by Tim Russ. Now the Prowler's depiction in this show was of an Angry young man whom really wants to be powerful in life so he goes into a life of crime in order to do it but we learn he is not truly a bad man deep inside and Tim Russ' performance does fit that pretty well. Tim's voice and performance do suit the Prowler especially for his depiction in the show on how Tim's work does show a good sense of angst but genuinely determined as well. While its not one of the best performances in the show but its a pretty good example nevertheless. Oh yes and the 90's Spider Man series is to date the only Spiderman series to have Prowler in it so far (while Hobie has been in both this show and Spectacular Spider Man but that is a different story).
In 2007, Prowler had his Video game debut in Activision's Spider Man Friend or Foe in which he was voiced by Chris Gardner. Unlike the 90's Spider Man series Prowler's depiction in the game is more flat out heroic and Chris' work does suit what Activision was going for in the game here just fine. In fact to be honest the only problem I have with Chris' work as Prowler is that on how Prowler didn't exactly have all that many lines in that game. But still Chris' overall work does suit the role pretty well with a fairly low voice and a tone that is serious but not too stiff. Overall I must say that both of these guys did do pretty well and their performances did suit on what their respective depictions were trying to go for.
