Voice Compare » Spider-Man » Mysterio
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Mysterio with sound clips and images.
EDITOR'S OPINION
Alright folks here is another VC for a member of Spider Man's Rogues Gallery namely the Master of Illusion... MYSTERIO! Oh yes and since this is a VERY large VC it will take WAY too long to do a long detailed review so needless to say I am going to make this a short one. Most of them are very good but I think I like Peter Renaday, Gregg Berger and Robin Atkin Downes to David Kaye the most here. The weakest is probably Daran Norris whom is otherwise a good VA but his Mysterio voice is probably a little too high (at least James made a better effort in trying to get his to work. And Peter Cullen's work for Mysterio wasn't bad but his voice probably should have been a bit lower and well we all know he can handle that just fine.) Overall I am not entirely sure who to flat out pick as most of them did rather well with the role.Pokejedservo

David and Xander are good, but god, Daran was so darn entertaining and just crazy.

I enjoy David Kaye the most with Daran Norris just behind him. If Daran hadn't gotten quite that high-pitched and goofy he might have been my favorite.

Gregg Berger, David Kaye, Daran Norris, Xander Berkeley, James Arnold Taylor, Peter Renaday, are my favorites. Greg Baldwin has potential and Robin Atkin Downes does but was disappointing with the voice he used.

Personally, I prefer David Kaye as Mysterio. Yeah, it's basically his Megatron voice, but I feel it does suit Mysterio rather well, given both tend to be large hams, so I feel ti works.

What I like about Berkeley's portrayal is the element of comedy in it; usually Mysterio is played straight, but Berkeley is so over-the-top and flamboyant that it's honestly rather funny. His semi-British accent also serves as a nice contrast to his rougher, more blue-collar voice as Quentin Beck.

I'm disapointed with Kaye's. I mean listen to the begining, it was deep and threatening and was perfect. Then with the rest of the clip he lost that and was less fitting.

Xander's Mysterio (along with many, if not all the voices) sounds rather outlandish and just plain weird (rather foreign, actually, for someone named Quinton Beck), not to mention that he doesn't have the classic bubble-like sound Gregg's version has.

@OminousFlare
Actually, a lot of voice casting for Sepctacular isn't weird or outlandish. Also, Mysterio is a lrage ham by his nature anyway.
Besides, no offense, but you did vote for Erfem Zimbalsit, Jr. for Doc Ock, who gave the character a German accent, despite the character NOT actually being German.

@OminousFlare Actually all versions of Mysterio are British.

@Anicomicgeek He critcized it for being foreign when he's usually portrayed as British.

Maybe you should add JAT's MUA Mysterio. It didn't have any filters in his voice

You are missing the voice from Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, which is my personal favorite.
I voted David Kaye, although his voice is noticeably inconsistent. It's like a growl at the beginning but turns into more of a sorry, more generic voice.

Daran Norris is my favorite for the role with Michael Rye in second. I actually dont like Berkeley's take that much on this one.

Tough one. I'll go with either Xander Berkeley or David Kaye. They both did great.
