Voice Compare » Spider-Man » Madame Webb
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Madame Webb with sound clips and images.
EDITOR'S OPINION
Ah yes Madame Webb, a mentor with a trickster spirit mentality whom despite all her mystical psychic powers is very much a different type of Grandma figure in Spider man's life. (Does genuinely want to aid Spider Man but is more trying to get his act together and definitely won't take any backtalk from Spidey.) Anyways Madame Webb's debut was in the 90's Spider Man series in which she was voiced by Joan Lee whom is most known as Stan Lee's wife. (Which lets just say explains why Stan called Madame an "Exotic Lady" in his cameo appearance on the show.) But still unlike Joan's dear old hubby she has only very rarely appeared in Marvel Comic Adaptations with her performance as Madame Web being her most known performance and fortunately its a very good performance to be known for. While its no surprise that Joan was very much able to do an elderly voice considering on how she was very much elderly even back then but I always did like her performance for the role as its not only very mysterious but has a nice elegant touch that doesn't seem too regal. It was definitely one of the better performances in that show as it was a great fit for the role.Madame Webb never had a voice acted part again until Spider Man Shattered Dimensions came along and this time she was voiced by Susanne "Cruella DeVille" Blakeslee whom is a rather suitable alternative. Susanne was able to do a nice elderly voice and her performance certainly gave a wise and sagacious feel and while it may seem a little less energetic as Joan's but it works rather well for the role nevertheless. Overall I suppose I am going with Joan in the end but both of these ladies did really well with this role.

I like Joan more as she sounds more like a creepy fortuneteller you'd meet at a carnival while Susanne sounds more like a wise fortuneteller trying to warn you of your impending fate.

Susanne Blakeslee gave Madame Web a "wise old woman" feel and suits the character. Joan Lee, sorry Stan if you're reading this, sounded stuck-up and haughty as Web.
Yeah, gotta give it to Susanne Blakeslee on this one.

Yeah, Susan Blakeslee. She sounded like a wiser old woman, while I'm still debating what Lee sounds like.

Joan Lee made Madame Webb sound like a creepy old hag(realy she did sound like that), but Susanne Blakeslee gave her "a wise old lady" sound, which was perfect for the character(sounded like my grandma trying to creep me out)
