EDITOR'S OPINION

Ah yes Madame Webb, a mentor with a trickster spirit mentality whom despite all her mystical psychic powers is very much a different type of Grandma figure in Spider man's life. (Does genuinely want to aid Spider Man but is more trying to get his act together and definitely won't take any backtalk from Spidey.) Anyways Madame Webb's debut was in the 90's Spider Man series in which she was voiced by Joan Lee whom is most known as Stan Lee's wife. (Which lets just say explains why Stan called Madame an "Exotic Lady" in his cameo appearance on the show.) But still unlike Joan's dear old hubby she has only very rarely appeared in Marvel Comic Adaptations with her performance as Madame Web being her most known performance and fortunately its a very good performance to be known for. While its no surprise that Joan was very much able to do an elderly voice  considering on how she was very much elderly even back then but I always did like her performance for the role as its not only very mysterious but has a nice elegant touch that doesn't seem too regal. It was definitely one of the better performances in that show as it was a great fit for the role.

Madame Webb never had a voice acted part again until Spider Man Shattered Dimensions came along and this time she was voiced by Susanne "Cruella DeVille" Blakeslee whom is a rather suitable alternative. Susanne was able to do a nice elderly voice and her performance certainly gave a wise and sagacious feel and while it may seem a little less energetic as Joan's but it works rather well for the role nevertheless. Overall I suppose I am going with Joan in the end but both of these ladies did really well with this role.

Susanne Blakeslee's the better one, Joan Lee sounds too obnoxious and stuck up in the role (just like the character herself in the episodes she was in).

If I'm Going to be Honest, My Preference to Susanne Blakeslee's Take is Based Less on My Love of Her Performance (Though that Being Said It is Really Good) and more on how Much I Loathe Madame Webb in the 1990's Spider-Man.

I mean No Disrespect to The Late Joan Lee, but the Version she Voices is So Pompous, Derisive and Obnoxious that I Can't STAND HER!!!!!!!!

Cree Summer is Decent in the Role, though she Sounds a Little too Young in the Part For My Liking.

Susanne Blakeslee Wins

Future VA Suggestions:

Carolyn Seymour would be a Really Good Fit in the Role, using a Similar Voice to her Doctor Chakwas.

For a More Higher Budget Production...... Dame Helen Mirren. At the Very Least she Would be a Fantastic Fit for her if she appears in the MCU.

I also recommend Cindee Mayfield, Ellen Kennedy, Sara Kestleman, CCH Pounder, Diana Rigg and Sarah Douglas

I call a tie, they're both equally perfect in their own way.

@EPA Deane Cree would be in the middle. She's good, but I honestly like Suzanne a little bit more.

These are two different personalities of Madame Webb so I'm pretty much tied for the two!

This stumps me. Joan Lee has the more natural voice, but an irritating performance to fit her irritating character. Susanne Blakeslee has a better performance, but the voice isn't as old sounding. So I guess it's a tie.

Susanne sounds wise & calm like Madame Webb should be.

Joan gets annoying after a while in fact a friend of mine said Madame Webb was the worst thing about Animated Series though I really agree but it's something 2 think about.

@Ross123 I think TAS did go downhill when Madame Web showed up myself, but the worst thing about but was the voice direction that ruined a lot of talented potential IMO.

@pete I didn't mind her in Season 3 of TAS as she didn't show up that much. Only for a few minutes here & there but Season 5 was a terrible mess with all the Mary Jane clone stuff, an alien planet needing saved and dimension jumping.

Yeah I know that sounds stupid since the previous seasons had other dimensions in them as well but Spidy didn't go jumping through them.

As for the voice cast. Spiderman, certain supporting characters and most of the villains had good voices in my opinion. It was mainly the supporting characters that had terrible voices.

I like Joan more as she sounds more like a creepy fortuneteller you'd meet at a carnival while Susanne sounds more like a wise fortuneteller trying to warn you of your impending fate.

Susanne Blakeslee gave Madame Web a "wise old woman" feel and suits the character. Joan Lee, sorry Stan if you're reading this, sounded stuck-up and haughty as Web.

Yeah, gotta give it to Susanne Blakeslee on this one.
