Voice Compare » Spider-Man » Kraven the Hunter
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Kraven the Hunter with sound clips and images.
Kraven the Hunter (real name Sergei Kravenhoff) is a big game hunter who seeks to capture Spider-Man and prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world. He is an expert hand-to-hand combatant and so often rejects the use of firearms in favor of his own natural abilities. He sometimes uses a mystical serum that grants him superhuman senses, strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility, reflexes, and longevity.

Eric Vesbit. I like Peter Lurie as an actor, but his voice isn't deep enough and his accent sounds a bit too unnatural. Jim Cummings is good and was a decent choice, but he's not the greatest choice for Craven and he has that twinge of goofiness I associate with him in his voice and doesn't quite sound dark and serious enough.

On a side note Diedrich and Jim are the best here IMO though Eric, Gregg and Peter aren't bad either.

Diedrich Bader was awesome. A great departure from his usual roles and well you can hear Batman or Guy Gardner with a Russian accent it's trill really good. On another note I fell for Internet lies that Jim Cummings reprised the role there. Shame on me.

Peter Lurie's Kraven sounds like Vulcan Raven from Metal Gear Solid.(Well he did do both characters).

Diedrich's is surprisingly good, especially considering how disappointing USM's Electro and Rhino were. My vote's still for Eric Vesbit, though.

@TheVengeanceKnight I don't see how Electro was bad

@Music Meister Look at my comments on the Electro VC.

@TheVengeanceKnight Just cause his voice was high he was bad?
Replysaid at 9:24 PM on Thu Feb 7 2013
@Music Meister It's a step up from his Spidey, I'll say that much. :-P

@TheVengeanceKnight I'd say Christopher Daniel Barnes' Electro's pretty damn good. In my eyes, he's right up there, second only to Thomas F. Wilson.

Neither compare to Crispin Freeman. ;-D
But I digress.

Unless Travis Willingham came into the equation for no reason.
But, I think I'll just leave it at that....

I liked Diedrich's Kraven. Not as good as Jim Cummings, but I'm sure if anyone can do that.

I realy liked Diedrich, he sounded menacing ad savage and did the accent pretty well. Sometimes when he yells his accent doesn't sound as natural but that doesn't happen a lot. I'd but him third

Diedrich's clip will not play for me. The other ones are working fine.

Jim Cummings, Eric Vesbit and Michael Dorn are the best ones. The others are not bad, but little too over-the-top and silly for my taste.

I think Jim Cummings is the best Craven. Eric Vesbit is good too.

Considering that Jim Cummings got really lazy in that game(all 4 of his characters sounded alike), I give it Eric Vesbit.

1. Jim Cummings- Jim proofs why he's myfavorite VA. Menacing, strong, savage and the darkness all while doing the accent very well.
2. Peter Lurie- Good accent while still sounding menacing and savage.
3. Gregg Berger- I like he can go menacing yet can fit for the sympathetic moments of the character. Accent is alright.
4. Eric Vesbit- Menacing and savage but a bit wooden at times.
5. Micheal Dorm/Paul Dobson- Neither have the accent but their strong voices make up for it. Dorm's is a bit calmer but not too much to be wooden while still having that savage feel while Dobson has the more menacing side. Both are good but could be better.
6. Neil Kaplan- Accent is alright but kinda generic.
7. Robert Ridgly- Also generic but since he has no accent he is below Neil.
8. Chris Wiggins- Too forced and too high plus without the accent it just doesn't fit the character at all.

Even before Shattered Dimensions came around I always imagined Kraven with Jim Cumming's voice, the reality is even better.

Gotta side with everyone else of this one: Jim Cummings for Kraven. For the same reason as everyone else, too: he's got the right amount of meance, savageness, and darkness in his voice for Kraven.

Diedrich Bader was good as Kraven, but I still think Jim Cummings is better, so I'll stick with him.

Jim Cummings. Hands down. Eric doesn't sound quite savage enough. He sounds more suitable for a Daniel Steele novel... ironically. :P

Jim Cummings. His Kraven is the perfect mix of darkness and Russian accent. He is much more menacing then a lot of the other Kraven the Hunters, too.
