EDITOR'S OPINION
Alright folks here is a VC for another one of Spider Man's enemies namely... THE BEETLE! Granted while there are characters whom are far more obscure the Beetle is not exactly one of the most known super-villains in Marvel History (which is a potential reason why his roles in adaptations are generally secondary at best to brief cameos at worst) but he has his history as well ever since the 60's. However Beetle's VA debut was in the early 80's where he was voiced by the late great Chris Latta in Spiderman and his Amazing Friends. I admit I was surprised to hear how Beetle's high pitched voice sounded, granted I know that to anyone whom is REMOTELY familiar with Chris Latta's work is not surprised at the thought of him doing a higher voice. But still while its not too hard to tell that Beetle has the same VA as the likes of Cobra Commander and Starscream its not too obvious as well. To make a long story short not one of Chris' best works but a somewhat interesting change of pace nevertheless.Oddly enough the only time Beetle ever appeared in 90's animation was when he had a bit cameo in the Iron Man series where he was voiced by John Reily. And I suppose that John's voice for the role is not bad by its own merits but it is kind of strange to hear on Beetle. Granted I do realize that the show thought it would be funny to use Beetle's cameo on the show to give him a English accent as a gag reference to the famous music band "The Beetles". I suppose its kind of amusing but while it is kind of odd at the least show did try to be creative with the fact that Beetle is only going to get a brief cameo instead of just giving him a rather generic voice.
During the 2000s Beetle did not appear in any animated shows in fact he appeared in a couple of games such as for example in the early 2000's he was voiced by Daran Norris in Spider Man 2 Enter Electro. Daran's voice for the role is rather nasally which is a decent fit I suppose as it does work with what his performance was going for the role namely a good old fashioned Super Villain whom is just doing his job. Basically its not one of Darran's best Spidey performances but its not his worst either. And during the mid 2000's namely the Ultimate Spider Man game he was voiced by Tucker Smallwood, in which Tucker is going for a lower and more professional sounding voice which did sound pretty cool. While Beetle's role in the game was not really small however Beetle didn't exactly say all that much. But still aside from the lack of lines Tucker's work is an interesting change of pace for the role nevertheless. Overall I am going with Chris Latta and Tucker Smallwood the most with Darran Norris at 2nd with John Reilly at a decent third.

Just an FYI, the voice Steve used for Beetle in his second episode is lower, and closer to his normal voice.

I'm going with Tucker Smallwood. John Reilly's accent made me laugh though.

Steve's take on Beetle sounds more like Voltar from the League of Super-Evil. Am I right?

Hmm... I think Steve's Beetle should have a bigger dialogue for better understanding and review and I don't think Steve was trying to imitate Chris Latta's voice here.

Like Music Meister said, Steven Blum's versions sounds like Chris Latta. It's okay, but I'm gonna stick with Tucker Smallwood.

Steven does a really good Latta impression, as good as Scott McNeil, though I don't think that's such a good thing especially since in the show they were making him such a badass.

After rehearing it maybe it's not as good as Scott's impression but it's still not his best work

Tucker Smallwood for Beetle, though I would be lying if I said that the accent that John Reilly did didn't amuse me. Daran Norris was good, too.

The sound quality is bad but Latta's Beetle really stands out for me.

I like all four, each completly different. It's surprizing to Beatle in a more serious way and Tucker's voice does it justice but for the classic Beatle I'm at a toss. Chirst does a great high voice and still sound threatening. Norris has a good nasally voice but a couple times it got annoying. With Reilly...I can't hate it. It was a good idea to make him a reference to the beatles and it's a pretty good impression. It's not enough to get my vote but still not bad
I rank each as:
Smallwood
Reilly
Latta
Norris
