EDITOR'S OPINIONToday on the Soul Calibur VC section we take a look at the Dread Pirate Captain... CERVANTES DE LEON1 Lets begin...
Barry Gjerde- Barry's voice and performance for the role was pretty good as it does fit the role fairly well. (Granted one of Cervantes' endings in that game would lets just say seem a little strange to put it mildly but still.) Granted it might seem a little strange that for a Spanish Pirate he does sound occasionally Scottish but I suppose its not that big a deal. Basically its a pretty good example of Barry's work and a fairly good performance in general.
Warren Rodgerson- A slight mixed bag as there were some lines where Warren's voice for the role got a bit lower and his performance was really good as it sounded really sinister. However Warren's voice for the role did sound a bit forced when Cervantes is shouting though, its not really bad but still. Anyways while Warren's work on the role is not perfect but it is one of the better performances in that game.
Wally Wingert- Wally's voice for the role is not bad at all but it is a little bit too high but it still does work for the role pretty well. As for Wally's performance it was pretty good as a gruff mannered sinister pirate and the quality of his performance was a little bit more consistent as well. So basically its not one of Wally's better performances but it is a good one nevertheless.
Patrick Seitz- Well this is an interesting change of pace for Patrick as to be honest I couldn't even tell that it was him at first. But still Patrick was a bit of an improvement from Wally as his voice and performance for the role suited on how Cervantes is a gruff evil old pirate well. (In which I noticed on how Patrick's work on the role suited on how Cervantes has regained his humanity in V but is still very much an evil pirate.) Basically a pretty good example of Patrick Seitz's work and is a good example that he does have some range there.
Overall I liked Warren and Patrick the most but Barry and Wally are not too far behind in this regard.
