Voice Compare » Sonic the Hedgehog » Vector the Crocodile
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Vector the Crocodile with sound clips and images.
Vector is the head honcho at the Chaotix Detective Agency. He's mainly in it for the money, but cares for his teammates, Espio the Chameleon and Charmy Bee, regardless.
It is commonly believed that Bill Corkery voiced Vector in Sonic Heroes. This is not true; Bill Corkery was instead the voice of Espio.
Whatever the case, Vector was played by Marc Biagi in Heroes. For Sonic X and Shadow the Hedgehog, his voice actor was Jimmy Zoppi (who was credited as Carter Cathcart in the latter). Vector was voiced by Dan Green in the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games series because Jimmy Zoppi left 4Kids. As of Sonic Free Riders, he's voiced by Keith Silverstein.

EDITOR'S OPINION
Jimmy Zoppi's was rather goofy and sometimes a bit annoying, even though it did give us the computer room meme. Dan Green was a much more fitting replacement (even if he sounded like Knuckles at times), and Keith Silverstein has a great voice for Vector, sounding comedic, but easier to take seriously. Even so, I've got to go with Marc Biagi, for making Vector sound deep, serious and, well, like a boss. He even succeeded at playing Vector's lighter moments.NCZ

Vector is definitely one of a kind haha. But hmm... I think my choice will Marc Biagi. I pictured Vector with a deep voice and he fit the bill. :)
1. Marc Biagi
2. Keith Silverstein
3. Dan Green
4. Jimmy Zoppi (But he has good range after seeing all the characters he has played. I just didn't like his Vector much...)

I'm going to be the odd person here and vote for Jimmy Zoppi. Because he makes him sound funny!

1. Marc Biagi - He was perfect. He sounded like how you might expect an alligator to sound, deep. He sounded kind of serious, though not as serious as Espio, but comical as well. The Brooklyn accent was icing on the cake.
2. Keith Silverstein - He's a little more easy on the ears than Jimmy, and unlike Dan he doesn't slip into a default voice at all.
3. Dan Green - He sounds similar other characters he's voiced, but at least he gets the cocky part of Vector's personality right.
4. Jimmy Zoppi - He just sounded way too cartoony. Didn't Carter Cathcart voice Vector once?

@TheTrueYuma carter cathcart is jimmy zoppi's alias.

@myopinion1 If you want to get really technical, "James Carter Cathcart" is his real name, and "Jimmy Zoppi" is an alias (at least the last name). It's just a case of an actor being more known for an alias than their real name (Dan Green and Wayne Grayson are also in that situation, and Greg Abbey used to be back when everyone called him "Frank Frankson").

I definitely don't care about Biagi's voice so I definitely am not voting for him. While Zoppi is funny and I do love the way he did the voice, the dialogue could get stupid at times. Green did a fantastic job at sounding almost identical to Zoppi, but I have to pick the majority vote and go with Silverstein just due to How I like how he did a good mix of both Zoppi/Greens performance and Biagi's performance and came out with something good in the end

Keith is easily one of the best voices in the new voice cast, plus he made Vector sound comedic and tough so he gets my vote, though Marc Biagi was very good also.

Marc, as small as his role was, emoted well and really fit Vector's personality. I miss him and the rest of the Sonic Heroes cast a lot. (Well, maybe not Big and Cream)
Jimmy is too cartoonishly annoying and he always talked like he had something in his throat. He had his funny moments, though.
Dan doesn't count because Olympic Games were sound effects, not acting.
I think Keith is able to find a good middle ground between Marc and Jimmy's takes on Vector so I'm gonna go with Keith FTW.

Marc sounds very different from the other voice actors but its not necessarily a bad thing. He really gives out a mix between gruff and silliness. Having a really deep voice does help.
Jimmy just sounds silly. The Computer Room meme was funny but that doesn't change the fact that he's my least favorite voiceover of Vector.
Dan sounds better than Jimmy but I will have to say that he was meh. He's far from bad but I wouldn't call him my favorite either.
Keith asking for his money kind of reminds me of Cartman :P. In all seriousness though, he combines all three voices pretty well. His performance was good as well.

Marc. I like his because it's not high pitch but it makes Vector more gruff and tough in a way. The others are okay but the volume for each one is different from hearing it here. The rest sound awfully similar to each other.

It isn't as grumbly as Marc but not as high pitch annoying as Jimmy
Keith has a good mix that both says Gator and great aspects you expected from Vector

1. Marc Biagi - His gruff and greedy voice matched perfectly with the "rough and tumble" Vector in Sonic Heroes.
2. Keith Silverstein - I think he's a great new Vector, and, to me, his Vector voice sounds like a combination of Marc Biagi's and Dan Green's, sort of like a deeper, gruffer version of Dan's.
3. Dan Green - His Vector voice seems to me a less-goofy version of Jimmy Zoppi's.
4. Jimmy Zoppi - I didn't dislike his Vector voice, I just didn't like it as much as the other three.

On another note, I don't think it was Jimmy Zoppi that did Vector's voice in Shadow the Hedgehog.
Vector's voice in Sonic X seemed to change quite a bit. In episode 39, when the Chaotix were introduced for the first time, Vector's voice was more high pitched and silly sounding. But when Shadow the Hedgehog was releassed, Vector's voice was very different. It seemed a bit lower pitched compared to before. This same voice was also used during the 3rd season in Sonic X.
The point is, Jimmy Zoppi was apparently credited for doing Vector's voice in Ep. 39 in Sonic X, but someone else was credited for doing the voice in Shadow and possibly the remaining of Sonic X, under the name Carter Cathcart. Now, some have said that it was Jimmy Zoppi all along and simply was credited under a different name later on. But how do we know that for sure? The voice in Ep. 39 is rather different than the later episodes of Sonic X and of course the Shadow game.
So I find it hard to believe that Jimmy was doing those 2 voices the whole time, when they're rather different. Unless if someone can prove me wrong with good information, then I'll assume that Jimmy only did Vector's voice for one episode in Sonic X and then was replaced later.
Hopefully this confusing can be cleared up.

@BlueSkySlash Jimmy Zoppi's real name is James Carter Cathcart. He voiced Vector the whole time, but he changed things up a little and went under a different name for Shadow.

Alright. I suppose that clears things up on that. Thanks.
In either case, Jimmy's voice for Vector, for both cases, was not very good in my own opinion. I know Vector is supposed to be a comic relief type of character, but Jimmy's voice was more of a total joke and nothing more. But that's just me.

1. Keith Silverstein
I like this voice. Keith seems to combine all the previous voices into one voice that sounds perfect for Vector. Vector can be tough and short tempered, but he's also a little goofy with his likeness for money and other things. Keith seems to nail both of these traits so well. He might be the best Vector voice we could get, so I'm giving him a thumbs-up.
2. Marc Biagi
He seems to provide the only vector voice that sounds more natural. Whether that's a good thing or not is up to whoever's listening. He brings out Vector's toughness and comedy all in one sitting. Overall, Marc was very good at playing Vector. It's a shame that he only did the voice in one game though.
3. Dan Green
Dan was pretty good. He only did a few lines in those Olympic games though, so it is a bit hard to judge him. He sometimes sounds a bit like Knuckles though, so I may count that against him for that. But he does the job well enough that it's good noneoftheless.
4. Jimmy Zoppi/Carter Cathcart
The worst voice Vector had unfortunately. It was very annoying, dorky, and out of character at times for Vector. It honestly sounds like a cross between Barney Gumble and Pee Wee Herman it seems. Hell, he sounds a bit like Fozzie from the Muppets in a few areas. The point that I'm saying here is that this voice was way too cartoonish and ridiculous for its own good. When Vector says a serious line now and then, its hard to take him seriously when listening to this stupid voice. And of course, we can't forget the "Find the Computer Room" quote that spawned from this voice...
Overall, I didn't like this. It was just too stupid and out of place for a likable character like Vector.

Biagi: I'm acting.
Green: Dan, I love ya, man. But you just didn't get the role enough.
Zoppi: This is more the Vector I'm used to. Impatient, gator-esque voice, everything.
Silverstein: He wins. He manages to combine each role of Vector into his own perfect medium. Not too annoying to listen to and yet humorous in character.

Marc Biagi was Vector's first voice actor and once again the first one was the best. I think Vector's voice won't be good until they get him a voice actor that uses a new york accent like Marc did.

I've never really had a problem with any of Vector's V/As
Marc made Vector goofy but also smart, determained and brave and how he should sound it's a shame he didn't have more time to voice Vector he could have been more better if he stayed I think it could have been perfect tthe only problem with him is that he sounded a bit too gruff and that could have changed
Next...."Find The Computer Room" XD
Jimmy voiced Vector in 2005 (Shadow The Hedgehog) and only had a few performances in Sonic X he may not have been perfect but he made Vector the comedian who's plans always fail and go crook XD it was funny watching him and he did some funny perfomrances and gave us that amous quote in SHTH XD The problem with him was he sounded too high ptiched and that could have improved If you see Sonic X Season 3 You could see he was less high ptiched and more calm which was just perfect and it's a shame they fired him soo early when he could have given more perfomrances like that So I say his best perofmrance was in Sonic X (Season 3)
Dan Green to the resuce!!!! He voiced Vector in the Mario And Sonic series and I gotta say he was actually good sounded calm and a bit bold but not much which was good plus he put that Knuckles voice away and transformed it into something different I think Dan Green was awesome as both Vector and Knuckles (Also Mephiles, Prof Pickle and the Ice Cream Man XD)
The problem with Dan was at sometimes His vector voice sounded similar to Knuckles and then at other parts it would be different I think if he had more time voicing Vector he could have cracked it if he was given more chances but I was glad to have him part as that Sonic cast for the last 7 years :)
Lastly Keith Silverstein...
I actually have no problem with Keith I think he's doing a very impressive job and He's so far the only person I like for the new cast Excellent work in Sonic Free Riders but a shame it's manly trash talk and not really serious and some good lines in The DS Version of Colours I think he has the voice of all the other V/As combined but better ptiched and calm I'm looking forward to what he brings in future games but I hope he gets more time to voice him as it was unlucky for the others

Marc was ok, but he wasnt anything special, he wasnt very funny and didnt have that spark, it was just deep and had a new-york accent to it, which kinda through me off since we know crocodiles arent native to new york (so far as I know) so giving a croc a ney york voice sounded weird to me for some reason

Okay, this is my opinion about Vector. The first time we got this game and when I looked on the back of the cover, I was sure he really is a crocodile and it's true. The way his voice sounds, it sounds so hilarious that I started laughing so hard. His other voices are even more hilarious that I'm just gonna fall backwards and start laughing. My brother can really speak him really good. He made his own voice for Vector so hilarious that I was laughing so hard nonstop that my sides started hurting and I get tears in my eyes. Whenever he does it, I feel giggly. That's my opinion.

Marc makes him sound too gruff. Jimmy's great for the lolz, but the best (judging from one-or-two-word voice clips) is probably from Dan.

I actually liked jimmy zoppi's vector, i like them all, and i find jimmy zoppi's voice more comical, Dan Green sounds a bit like knuckles too much in some cases... but all in all i guess Ill go with Dan Green!
