Lani was good at making Omochao sound annoying, but the way she delivered her lines felt awkward. She did a bit better in Sonic Heroes, but Omochao's role was pretty decreased in that game. Liza was all right. Nothing too special, but not horrible. Rebecca wasn't really that great and my least favorite, but Omochao didn't have much to say in that game.

That leaves my favorite, Laura Bailey! She managed to fit Omochao's personality and actually make him likable and funny. Plus, she got some good lines to work with.

Laura Bailey is my favorite even though he's still annoying.

Huh... So I totally thought Omochao was Brianne Siddall all these years.

I guess Lani is my choice. But honestly, I've never had much of an opinion on this particular Sonic character...

Omochao is the most annoying Sonic character ever!!! But if I have to choose, I say Laura Bailey, but that's not saying something.

 1 Shout Out!
1. Laura Bailey
2. Lani Minella
3. Liza Jacqueline
4. Rebecca Honig

Omochao, Omochao, Omochao... If it's any consolation, he's not a *godawful* character, per se, he just has a super obnoxious persona that's about on par with Navi (if not worse). Another bright note is that one can pick up and throw him in SA2, whether you wanna chuck him at enemies or simply toss the guy around; talk about cathartic. Now if only Sonic '06 could let players throw the bugger at Princess Elise... I'm getting ahead of myself here.

Of the four in this compare, Laura Bailey's by far the most likable in the role. The high-pitched, girly voice is something I can't deal, though Bailey is generally enjoyable acting-wise and manages to get some pretty nice dialogue as well. Lani Minella boasted a more fitting timbre and did fine with making Omochao sound persistent, though the delivery of her lines usually fell short. Liza Jacqueline was bland akin to a cardboard box: not terrible, although not exactly good either. Even going by what little material she received, Rebecca Honig managed what was without any shadow of a doubt the worst performance between these VAs. The voice ain't what I envisioned in my head concerning Omochao's typical characterization and the acting's on the really meh side.

Laura Bailey isn't perfect, yet she has my vote otherwise.

Oh boy. This character.

Alright, I voted for Lani Minella since hers sounded the most like a little boy which I can see fitting on Omochao. Liza was the least annoying, but she fails to deliver much impact. Rebecca has to be the worst with that rusted voice.

Laura Bailey comes pretty close to Lani in my opinion, but goddamn that high voice.
said at 1:40 PM on Fri Jun 24 2016
In terms of the voice itself, I'd say Lani; acting-wise, though, I'd say Laura. My vote goes to the latter, because she sounds the most natural of the bunch. Also, if Laura was to improve her voice for Omochao, maybe something like her Kid Trunks could work, at least IMO.

That's my opinion, fellas.

All of them annoy me, but I guess Laura Bailey was the best of the group.

It might be nostalgia talking, but I think Lani Minella's my favorite. I just think she made Omochao sound the most like an actual male (if Omochao IS in fact, a male, and not genderless).

I actually never found him annoying. The best out of the 4 is Laura, but I prefer Lani's. sounded like a little boy, more genuine. While Laura's is the best, I feel like hers would be the one I'd find annoying, since in that perpetual high pitched tone all the time.

Ah, a VC that I have been avoiding for some time now. Usually I either haven't had the time to get round to some of them or avoid them because I'm not a fan of the thing that the character is in.

But I am a fan of Sonic, so why have I avoided it:

Because I find this stupid Chao thing to be annoying, I refuse to call it by its real name for 1. It's annoying. 2. I don't like it. 3. I don't really care.

However, I'm not going to bash any VAs though because that's not cool.

Meh, Laura sounds the better than the rest so I'll go for her.

Even though I don't particularly like this Chao thing, every1 else was pretty decent.

@Ross123 Never really liked Chao myself, he annoyed me like crazy when I was playing Sonic Adventure 2 and earned my spot as worst Sonic character with Chip a close 2nd

But I guess both the 4Kids women and Laura are okay, Lani's take is pretty grating
said at 7:09 AM on Sat Feb 7 2015
@HienFan I'm pretty sure Chao what's it's name here is a she instead of a he. Considering a the VAs are women.
said at 7:10 AM on Sat Feb 7 2015
*all the VAs are women.

@Ross123 Omochao is a robot, so technically it's genderless (like Omega, Gamma, etc.).
said at 8:51 AM on Sat Feb 7 2015
@NCZ Oh, right. I forgot about Omochao being a robot until you mentioned it.

Definitely Laura Bailey. She is the only one who doesn't make Omochao sound annoying.

SOMEONE GET ME A SHOTGUN! IMMA F^%$#@& KILL THIS THING! *ahem* Sorry, but the memories keep coming back...Anyways, Laura Bailey does the best job at giving this little hell spawn personality while the others make it sound too robotic.

Lani Minella: Yes. You are annoying me.(nice start)

Liza Jacqueline: better role. sounds more human-like.

Rebecca Honig: WAY to robotic. Even though I don't hate it a lot, this is "tech"nically the worst (rimshot)

PUN CITY!!!!! ( reference)

Laura Baily: PERFECT! She gives omochao a human like, young tone that doesn't make me cringe. It might annoy me in Generations but even then, she was a really great voice.

So I'm voting for Laura Bailey.

Liza is the VA I find the most tolerable. It's a pretty generic take on Omochao, but I find the other actresses a bit annoying. Not really their fault, as they pointed out the most obvious lines in gaming history.
said at 8:20 PM on Sun Jun 23 2013
@Mephilesthelight358 Which is exactly why I, and most people, hate the character to begin with.

I think Laura is the best.
said at 11:59 PM on Wed Oct 3 2012
Lani did a decent job although her speech was awkward. She did a good boyish sound but if she had better directing (go play any Virtua Fighter games or Shemmue and you'll know what I'm talking about) should would have sounded a lot better.

Liza I feel is just a forgettable voice actress for Omochao. She's not bad by any means but is just average.

Rebecca felt like a miscast, that is all I'm going to say.

Laura really makes Omochao a joy to listen to, the way she speaks her lines really makes it sound so lively that I'm willing to turn Omochao on for Sonic Generation just to hear Laura.

This is a tough choice because all of these voice actors bring a different flavor to Omochao's voice (and personality in some instances). But I guess I'll rank them in the fairest way possible.

1. Laura Bailey

She did a great job doing an energetic voice for Omochao. She keeps things alive and can sound a bit grating at times (which might be the point). Unlike the other voices though, Laura makes Omochao very feminine and not as robotic. This is not a bad thing by any means, but if someone is used to hearing Omochao with a more robotic boyish tone, Laura's voice might sound a little awkward. Regardless, I do prefer this voice for this tutorial/announcer character anyways. So kudos to Laura Bailey.

2. Lani Minella

Her voice in Sonic Adventure 2 was boyish and robotic. It was kinda cute at times, but it wasn't too lively. In Sonic Heroes, she decided to change things up quite a bit by making the voice more energetic and higher pitched. This version of the voice is a little weird to listen to, but I do compliment Lani for the effort at least. I think both versions make Omochao sound a bit robotic, but unique at the same time. So I thought Lani did fine overall, but having her voice the character probably wasn't the best decision to begin with.

3. Liza Jacqueline

Liza was okay, but she made Omochao sound a little mellow and generic to me. The voice is not unfitting, but I didn't think it was as interesting as Laura's or even Lani's voice. There isn't much else for me to say really.

4. Rebecca Honig

I thought this voice was rather mediocre. It sounded a bit nerdy and bland. I know Rebecca didn't have too many lines to begin with, but I feel she wasn't a good choice for the role anyway. So she's my least favorite voice.

I liked Laura and, to some extent, Lani the best for voicing Omochao. But I'll vote for Laura since it was the most appealing to listen to.

@BlueSkySlash You do have to give Liza cridit for making her sound less annoying.

I think U shud have two of Lani Minella's since her Omochao voices is Sonic Adventure 2 and Heroes were different
said at 1:07 PM on Sun May 15 2011
1. Lani Minella - Omochao's voice sounded most fitting in Sonic Adventure 2, in my opinion.
2. Laura Bailey - I love the announcer-style voice she did for Omochao!
3. Liza Jacqueline - Hmm, her voice sounds familiar. Perhaps I heard it in Pokemon.
4. Rebecca Honig- Heh, that was pretty cute.
said at 4:52 PM on Wed May 11 2011
I honestly never think much of Omochao's voice since it always seemed to be just a tutorial character in general.

Anyway, I do think that Laura's voice is good and makes Omochao sound cute, only it doesn't sound robotic enough to me. I don't know, I guess when I look at a character like Omochao I expect it's voice to sound just a little bit like it's coming out of a robot. That's why I prefer Lani or Liza (though I do keep in mind how annoying the fans thought Omochao was in Sonic Adventure 2).
said at 4:02 PM on Sat May 7 2011
Lani is the best. She just sounded more the part and really brought Omochao to life. The others sounded more generic, though I guess Laura is fairly decent.
said at 4:32 PM on Sat May 7 2011
After re-listening to the clips, Rebecca's not that bad either. Liza's the one I don't really like (I didn't even know it was supposed to be Omochao).

@PurpleWarrior13 Indeed. I had no idea it was Omochao in the game until he appeared toward the end of Babylon's story mode. I thought it was just a generic announcer.
said at 7:00 AM on Sun Oct 20 2013
@PurpleWarrior13 I disagree. Lani's take was suicide for the character. Liza sounded the least annoying and more of what Omochao was intended to be, a help character.

I like Lani's boy voice in SA, especially in that Am I Annoying You? Line! I think Liza was actually pretty good, but I think she should've been more lively, I cant vote yet, becuz ultimately none of them were PERFECT for the role, cuz they all lacked at least 1 important thing
said at 7:01 AM on Sun Oct 20 2013
@AMT I doubt they were attempting a lively voice for the character. I think it was a smart thing to do considering that it led Liza to be the least annoying choice.

Lani Minella did make Omochao sound more annoying and boyish She did well bringing those sides to Omochao but sometimes it would get too annoying XD but I agree she improved in Heroes

I'm not entirely sure about Rebbeca Honig's version of Omochao there was something missing in her Omochao voice Though it at least didn't sound as annoying but there was still something off

Liza sounds more boyish like the other 2 but she is not as annoying as Lani I actually found her voice acceptable even though it was a little bit annoying and Laura Bailey does good here as well though it sounds less boyish and still annoying at times

I call a tie between Liza Jacqueline and Laura Bailey but Lani was good too She would sound funny at times So I won't vote anyone yet :P...
said at 8:28 PM on Fri May 6 2011
Yeah scratch that I agree I call a tie for all of them too for now.
said at 7:04 AM on Sun Oct 20 2013
@Truesonic Yeah, Lani's take wasn't a smart decision considering the hatred thic character now has.
I don't see how Honig was miscast.
To me, Liza was the least annoying. She's pretty underrated in my opinion and I kinda miss her as an actress. But Laura's good too.

I'll give this one to Laura. Acting wise and personality, Laura wins! But like you said, she had good lines that gave her the chance to bring out that nice personality.

Voice wise, Laura was probably the most girly. Now I cant really hear Rebecca's that well, so Idk for sure, but hers and Lani's sound more boyish.

I think a combination of ALL of them, would make the best omochao.
