Franchise: Sin and Punishment

The protagonist of Treasure's cult classic rail shooter, Sin and Punishment. The leader of the Saviour Group which defends Earth from the inhuman Ruffians, Saki is gifted with superior fighting skills and abilities. A typical brash young hero, he slices and blasts his way through foes with his famous weapon, the Cannon Sword.

EDITOR'S OPINION

Here's an out-of-left-field one for you! The acting in Sin and Punishment was a bit cheesy, but there was also a level of earnestness to it that's typical of Japanese games of the time, so on that front there is a real charm to it, at least to me. Michael Lerner is no exception. He sounds youthful and even though the acting is a bit amateurish, at least he's trying. Dex Manley is a decent replacement but yeah, not a massive amount to work with unfortunately.

I'm going with Dex Manley, although I wish he had more dialogue to say (perhaps if Saki could get promoted to fully playable character...).

I haven't really played either one of the two Sin and Punishment entries nor do I have much knowledge regarding the series, although what I can say for certain is that Saki's one of the best Assist Trophies in Brawl; easily a favorite of mine, at least.

In any case, between these men here, Michael Lerner does a better job with what he had to work with - yet to be fair to Dex Manley, the former also got more material than the latter. Lerner's acting is on the amateurish side, but the performance has a certain youthful edge to it that manages to make what Michael was attempting charming in a sense. Dex Manley's take on the other hand housed better delivery and (to a lesser degree) energy, but the voice itself could've used more polish and there was much less to go off of compared to Lerner.

While none of these guys were all that great in the role (but not too bad), consider me leaning towards Michael Lerner's rendition. Again he possessed a certain kind of charm that turned his performance from disastrous to Narm Charm.

Dex does a great job impression, but Michael had more time in the spotlight so my vote goes to him.

Dex Manley does pretty well for what he had to work with. But I'm voting for Michael Lerner because there's a certain charm to his voice. Probably the performance in that game I liked the most really (Brad's voice was also decent IIRC)

With them being practically identical I'm voting for Michael Lerner because Dex had no other lines

Michael Lerner has the more appropriate voice here to me, while Dex Manley has the right energy in his acting.

That being said, I feel Michael's take has more depth and presence to it, despite the acting being a bit too flat, so my vote's going to him on this one.
