Voice Compare » Sgt. Frog » Keroro
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Keroro with sound clips and images.
Keroro is the leader of the frog-like "A.R.M.P.I.T." alien platoon who have landed, and are stuck on, earth! He's wacky, zany, and full of fun! He enjoys collecting Gundom models, and driving a vacum cleaner! His voice of course should sound wacky, zany, and full of fun as well!
For the English dub of "Sergeant Keroro" by Animax for Singapore, Keroro is voiced by Andrea Kwan, who also voices Momoka and Koyuki in that dub!
For the planned English dub of Sgt. Frog by ADV, Keroro is voiced by Vic Mignogna. Mignogna also voiced Keroro in a guest appearance in Lucky Star.
For the "Test" English dub of episode 12 of Sgt. Frog by Funimation, Keroro was voiced by Chris Cason.
For the official Sgt. Frog English dub of Sgt. Frog by Funimation, Keroro is voiced by Todd Haberkorn.

EDITOR'S OPINION
I definitely prefer Todd of this bunch. He brings so much energy and humor into the role. It's really hard to imagine anyone else playing the part!I guess Vic is at a fairly close second

Todd is my favorite. In addition to being very high energy, he's got a naturally high, nasally tone to his voice, and he's able to exaggerate that well as Keroro, making him sound alien without making him unrelatable or distant. He's really expressive; and of course, hilarious.
I kind of like Cason, though. And I guess Vic is alright.
I think my issue with Andrea is that she doesn't sound WEIRD enough... she just sounds like a little kid most of the clip. Kumiko Watanabe, however, DOES sound weird; if the Animax dub was trying to ape the Japanese version, they should've gone the whole hog.

I bet Lee Tockar would do a good dub job of this character, too. Keroro reminds me of Snips.

@Dogman15 Since a woman was cast as Keroro in the original Japanese version of the show, I'd rather go with someone like Jillian Michaels or Tabitha St. Germain if we're going with Vancouver VAs.

@CatsTuxedo I think Sam Vincent and Matt Hill would do a decent job as Keroro. I could also picture Chiara Zanni as Tamama, Scott McNeil as Giroro or Kululu, Kira Tozer as Natsumi, Kathleen Barr as Fuyuki, Nicole Oliver as Aki... OH THE POSSIBILITIES!!! XD

ROFL!
"Who ya callin' little" - Vic's voice clip reminds me of a younger Edward Elric

Todd is definitely the best! But at the same time, I'm really impressed with Andrea's, given how extremely low-budget Animax dubs are...

I thought it was Vic as Keroro til I saw the credits
I think he and Todd sounded quite similar in this role

Todd's voice reminds me a bit of Slippy Toad from Star Fox Assault.

For me, it was rarely a real contest: I just chose Todd Haberkorn because he was the first I listened to, and he has so much energy and charismatic value! The other ones are good, but they did miss something... Can't quite put my finger on it... But man, I have heard Todd in various roles, and all of a sudden, he's about to do Natsu in Fairy Tail and Tsukune Aono in Rosario + Vampire. Also, I think the Japanese VA (Kumiko Watanabe) did pretty good as well!

I think that they all fit the character in different ways. Andrea sounds like the Jap voice, Vic Migogna does a good job at sounding like an alien invader (and a pretty cool one, at that), Chris Cason sounds like a zany, hyperactive character, and Todd... also sounds zany, but also very nerdy. Overall, I like Andrea the least, she can sound kind of awkward at times.

It really doesn't matter who played him in the JP version. All that matters is that a voice that works is chosen. And Todd is PERFECT in the role, and really captured the spirit of Keroro! I think he's better than all actors as Keroro including the Japanese (who was pretty good too!)

I chose Andrea Kwan. It just doesn't seem right having a male voicing Keroro, especially since he was voiced by a female in the Japanese version.

@CatsTuxedo It doesn't seem right because in the U.S. generally voices are more specific sounding instead of in Japan where oh lets have a female voice a creature because we believe cats should be females

@MatthewC17 How about giant lizard monsters instead?

Yeah. It was put back up on YouTube. A friend found it. I guess I could've used Mignogna's Lucky Star clip, but this worked just as well! Andrea Kwan was a bit harder to find.
