EDITOR'S OPINIONToday on the Sengoku Basara VC section we have this cool calculating tactician MORI MOTONARI! We shall start this one off with the original Sengoku Basara game for the PS2 that was called Devil Kings in which he had the somewhat odd name change to Kahz and was voiced by Sam Vincent. Say what you will about the odd name choice here but I think Sam Vincent did just fine with this role. Sam's voice and performance for the role had is intellectual yet doesn't sound nerdy at all and his performance certainly worked for Mori's Cold and Calculating personality. Basically to make a long story short its a good example of Sam Vincent's work and of the Voice Acting in that game.
In the 3rd Sengoku Basara game (and the anime) Sam Riegal takes over the role and I must say I was a bit surprised. Why? Lets just say Sam's voice for Mori was a little bit lower than I thought it would, now don't get me wrong its not a bad voice but it was a bit different than I expected. However while Sam's voice for the role is a bit smoother than I thought Sam's performance for the role wasn't bad at all though as it also works for Mori's persona though. I admit I do think that Sam's voice Mori voice should have been a little higher (and I do think that it could work) other than that Sam is a pretty good alternative. Overall while I do think that Sam Vincent has the somewhat better voice of the two here both of these guys gave fairly solid performances nevertheless.
