Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Sailor Venus with sound clips and images.
Sailor Venus (or Mina) is the fifth member of the Sailor Scouts, but the first to awaken her powers. She demonstrates love related powers to combat her enemies. She has dreams of becoming a star and is very cheerful.
For the entire first 2 seasons and all 3 movies of the English dub of the anime, Mina was voiced by Stephanie Morgenstern. However when the show returned for Seasons 3 and 4, Stephanie was unavailable and the director reevaluated the voice cast and recast several characters, and Stephanie Morgenstern was dropped as the voice of Sailor Venus. Emile Claire Barlow (who had previously stood in for Sailor Mars) was cast as her permanent replacement.

i think emilie's is more simialr to the japanese, but stephanie's was better but emelie's did have some good moments though

Stephanie. She was absolutely fantastic. She added a maturity to her voice that I adored. Yes, they're teenagers, but when I was little, all the DiC voices sounded like strong young women in their late teens, early 20s, and that's why Sailor Moon was more than just a kid's show.
Along with Katie Griffin, Terri Hawkes & Susan Roman, Stephanie was just the perfect Sailor Scout.

Emile, she's more Minako-chan then the Original based on these sound-bites. There should be both emotional, action type samples in my opinion. Since Stephanie's clip contains an action scene while Emilie has Minako's normal personality.

Stephanie Morgenstern is just too....surfer girl. Emilie's voice and performance fits the characters personality to perfection.

I have to say, I much prefer Emilie to Stephanie, simply because...well, I know Venus is a STRONG character but I feel like Steph's performance was too tomboyish and more fitting of Jupiter. It's really interesting to hear the difference.

Meh. My opinion's changed on this one. I think Emile fit the character slightly better than Stephanie. She sounded more age appropriate, funny, youthful, and energetic. She just sounded more believable as this character. That clip doesn't really do her justice to be honest. Stephanie sounded a tad too mature, and too sophisticated. Yeah, she sounded more chipper, but she also sounded like she was a young adult as opposed to a teenager that was reflected well in Emile's performance. Plus Emile could do the "boy crazy" side of Mina well. It's pretty clear that Emile's performance is more what the creator had in mind.

@sailor scout That is only because Sailor Jupiter has only had one English VA show so far in the dubs of the movies and the shows.

I don't know... I only saw her in Japanese, where she had a very soft, beautiful, feminine kind of quality in her voice as well as fun and energy. Emilie Barlow sounds more like that of the two, at least in the clip. But Stephanie Morgenstern sounds commanding, direct and leader-like, which Venus can also be... I don't know between the two!

I'm always a bit confused on Sailor Venus's personality. Stephanie played her very simple and nice, not too much personality, while Emilie played her role up really funny kinda like a ditz :P

Stephanie Morgenstern's voice of Sailor Venus is nicer and better. =D

i liked both but i did miss when they would have mina say "hey girl/girlfriend/girl hey!" in the earlier episodes with stephanie lol!
it's interesting...i always thought in the latter episodes that venus sounded a bit like mars...now i know why lol

I agree with shadowkitten.
They both did a great job voicing Mina, but I do like Stephanie a tiny more than Emilie.

Emilie. She fit Mina alot better. She was really funny in alot of parts.

Emilie's was okay she did sound like how
I would imagine Minako chan would sound like.
But somehow I thought Stephanie did better.
Probably because I was more used to her.
