Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Kaoru Kamiya with sound clips and images.
Kaoru Kamiya , AKA Kori Kamiya in the Sony dub of "Samurai X", is the teacher of the Kamiya Kasshin swordsman style in Tokyo.  Kaoru is an intelligent, strong, and independent women, but also has a more sensitive and obsessive side.  Kaoru later becomes Kenshin's wife in the end of the series and had a child named Kenji.

In the 90s Rurouni Kenshin was originally dubbed under the title "Samurai X" by sony.  This english dub never aired in the United States and is only currently available through legal-streaming sites such as Hulu.  In this dub Kaoru is voiced by Rebecca Forstadt who also voiced Marimo Ebisu in the Mediablaster's redub.

In the early 2000s Mediablaster's had obtained the rights to the Rurouni Kenshin TV series.  They decided to make a redub using Bang Zoom!  In This english dub Kaoru is voiced by Dorthy Fahn.

ADV purchased the rights to all of the OVAs/Movies for the Rurouni Kenshin franchise.  ADV used their secondary dubbing studio Monster Island for these releases.  Kaoru is voiced by Kara Bliss in the motion picture, and Katherine Catmull in the reflection OVAs

Dorthy Fahn will always be my personal favorite.  She did a good job at making Kaoru sound young, mature, intelligent.  She also performed exceptionally well in more dramatic scenes.

Rebecca Forstadt was just a "so-so" for me.  She had a nice voice, but felt too childlike and immature, and some of her lines were just painful to listen to.  For the most part she isn't all THAT bad, but it wasn't one of her better performances.  The other 2 sounded too dull and old in my opinion

I like Dorthy and probably in the minority here but I really like Katherine right next to her. A lot of people may disagree, but I think all the voices they chose for Reflection really suited the storyline.

Dorothy Fahn gets the character just right, though Kara Bliss is a good second. Rebecca Forstadt was all wrong for the part, and Katherine Catmull...too old, too dull.

I can't decide between Fahn and Bliss. Fahn falls for the old 'anime feel', sounding a little flat as a result. I might go for Bliss as she seems more natural.

Most of the first half of Reflection were just flashbacks to scenes from TV series which took place before any of that happened. This particular clip would have taken place in the first episode of the tv anime/1st chapter of the manga. I see what you're saying, but Catmull used the same dull-tone throughout the OVAs.
