Tommy Pickles is the main protagonist of the Rugrats series who has been around in the series since right from the start (including the pilot episode). Tommy is a very brave 1-year old baby who loves to go on adventures with his friends Chuckie, Phil, Lil and Kimi and his little brother Dil in which they normally love to go on adventures with him as well (except for Chuckie). Tommy is well known for being a brave and rather heroic little guy who does various feats such as explore the various places they go to and stand up to his rather bratty cousin Angelica however even Tommy can get scared and its been stated that Chuckie is the reason why Tommy is so brave because Chuckie backs him up all the time. The Rugrats series was also known for its positive treatment towards religion and Tommy is one of the biggest reasons why as he is the son of a Christian father and a Jewish mother and he celebrates both religion's holidays (though this fact was played up a bit more in the All Grown Up! series.)

EDITOR'S OPINION

Today we have the first Rugrats VC so it would make sense for us to have the first VC on the main baby of the series... TOMMY PICKLES! Let us begin...

Tami Holbrook- Tami's voice for the role does seem a little strange at first but it does work with the role pretty well (and to be fair the fact that this was a younger Tommy who is not ever 1 yet does help). Anyways Tami's performance does suit Tommy's curious and brave nature very well and is basically a good example of the voice work in the show.

Elizabeth Daily- Tommy Pickles is easily one of Elizabeth Daily's most known roles and iconic performances and its not hard to see why. Elizabeth's voice and performance for the role definitely suited Tommy's brave and heroic nature in a rather endearing way and is a fine example of the voice work in the show.

Overall Elizabeth's work is pretty classic but Tami's work on the role was very good as well.

Tami isn't doing a good job at hiding that a girl is voicing Tommy, unlike Elizabeth which as a kid blew my mind as a kid that a girl played Tommy.

So there are the ups and downs to both performances. Tami sounded suprisingly good but was in all honesty generic. Elizabeth made the iconic voice and sounds very unique but.... in all honesty it sounds... a little annoying. Its still a very good performance ( especially in how tommy pronounces words much like a young child would) but the voice gets a little annoying. Not enough to take away from the show but enough to slowly get on your nerves. That said Elizabeth still made the role her own and it honestly wouldn't be the same without her. So Tami was pretty good, but Elizabeth knocked it out of the park.

Elizabeth no contest, Tami gives him no real personality and sounds more like a teenage girl rather than a little kid.

Elizabeth put much more enthusiasm and cheerfulness into the role, which suited the character well, and was very unique-sounding. Tami just sounded like a generic baby.

Yes finally the Rugrats VC is up. I'm working on this with a few others in the forums. So if anyone knows any VC'S that aren't posted yet throw them that way please.
