Alright folks in honor of today being the 46th anniversary of the original Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer special done by Rankin Bass here is a VC for that ever so manly explorer... YUKON CORNELIUS! Speaking of that aforementioned 1964 original Yukon was voiced by Larry D. Mann. Larry's voice and performance has a good sense of manliness but sounds light-hearted and silly enough for the role that it fits the nature of the special well. To make a long story short Larry D. Mann's performance as Yukon is another pretty good example of why the 1964 special is pretty classic.

About 37 years later there was a Direct-to-Video CGI sequel called "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" in which Scott McNeil takes over the role as Yukon. While I admit that Scott's work as Yukon is not as good of a impersonation as his work as Hermey but it and Scott's performance is a pretty good one nevertheless and it still does work for the role. While the slight Southern accent in Scott's Yukon is a bit thicker than Larry's but its still pretty light when it comes to accented voices like that anyways. Overall I liked them both and they both did pretty well for the role here.

Larry is the better of the two. His voice is way more natural sounding. Scott is fairly humorous, but his impression goes a little over the top and the more boisterous voice he gives Yukon seems somewhat redundant. He fared better with Hermey.

1. Larry D. Mann- He fits the character and creates a classic. He sounds like a very manly explorer with a big heart playing a comical role.
2. Scott McNeil- A good impression, but it's not as good as his Hermey voice.

Larry wins this round. Scott is okay, not as good as his Hermey but it still works.

BONUS OPTION: If Yukon Cornelius ever appears again, I'd like to hear Maurice LaMarche, Clancy Brown, or Fred Tatasciore provide his voice.

Larry D. Mann. Because let's just pretend that that horrible CGI Rudolph movie never existed...

Going with Larry D. Mann. Scott McNeil doesn't sound super close to him, but he does pretty well.

Larry D Mann made this character what he was: his voice and delivery was consistently entertaining. Scott's okay, but his Yukon impression isn't nearly as spot on as his Hermey impression.

Larry D. Mann sounds a lot like Sarge in Red vs. Blue
