Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Jessie with sound clips and images.
EDITOR'S OPINION
Ah Jessie the feminine though blatantly dominant half of this little trio of Team Rocket members.I know the Voice comparisons between 4Kids and PUSA do have a bit of a history of debates. (Similar to that certain situation regarding Dragon Ball namely DBZ but that's another story.)
But I will say this much on how Michele Knotz does a very good impression of Rachel Lillis' Jessie voice. Rachel Lillis' voice work for Jessie is pretty classic but Michele Knotz as Jessie is one of the better PUSA voices for sure well IMO of course.

Michele Knotz's Jessie is too high pitched and squeaky, and lacks the personality and range of Rachel Lillis' Jessie

Jessie/Musashi, the more malicious and evil portion of TRio (well now in Best Wishes!/Black and White they're pretty competent/evil but you know what I mean).
1) Megumi Hayashibara- It's very fitting and phenomenal. Expresses Jessie's rage very well and malicious behavior, bossing around poor James/Kojiro and Meowth/Nyasu all the time. It's actually very scary at times, but in a good way. The bossiness and all included.
2) Rachael Lillis- Once again, excellent. That cackle, that evil malicious attitude, that low pitch resembling Hayashibara greatly. It's always consistent, matches Jessie almost perfectly, and while starting off a bit wooden in Early Kanto, really settles in nicely around Mid Kanto to the beginning of Battle Frontier.
3) Michele Knotz- Very good performance. It is too high-pitched for my taste at times, but it's an excellent replication of Lillis and is easily one of the less jarring voices in TPCi English. It's gotten much better in BW as well, but it seems a bit stuck-up at times and when she yells, it's fake-sounding.

I feel that this is the only role that Michele actually tries in: she matches Rachael pretty well and she's slightly better in BW too.
Rachael is still easily my pick for Jess, she captured Jess's angry and bossy essances really well, and she just fits the role a lot better. :)

Rachael Lillis is far better. It matches Jessie a lot more than Michele Knotz's performance.

Whilst I think Michele Knotz is one of the better VA replacements compared to the others, Rachael still wins my vote, she pulls off Jessies Bitchyness better, as well as that evil cackle!

I have to admit, when I first started watching the PUSA/TPCi dub of Pokemon, I didn't notice a single difference between Rachael Lillis or Michele Knotz as Jessie. Both did very well, and I have to give props to Michele for doing a near-flawless impression of Rachael here. In the end though, I guess I have to stick with Rachael.

@pokemastanumba1 Only Rachael can produce the true Jessie. I love how she goes from feminine to crazy in the 4Kids dub. Re-cast Jessie now TPCi, and make Rachael voice her again!

I mentioned about how Brock is one of the few people I prefer the original voices. Same with Jessie and James really.

Michele was probably their best stand-in, but in my opinion, she doesn't capture the character. It sounds too forced. =[
Rachael just sounds natural. Especially when Jessie gets excited or mad.

Like a few of the replacements, the new version shows a few signs of excellent replication here and there, but unfortunately there are certain elements to the character that can't be matched.

Rachael was amazing! Michele makes her sound way too sweet all the time, whereas Rachael made her sound more like she's only sounding sweet because she want something haha The attitude is missing in the new episodes

@AshytaFang Rachael has returned to the show I asked Michele why she isn't voicing Jessie again and she said she doesn't like her and then I thought well your voice isn't as good

Actually, Michele isn't a bad sound-a-like to Rachael, but I thought Rachael was more the character wheres Michele is more of an imitation (but she's still probably my favorite of the "new" cast).

@PurpleWarrior13 I talked to her on FaceBook and I upset her when I said I prefer Rachael then she sent me a message saying why she doesn't like her Knotz was the original choice for 4Kids but Lillis got angry at her so Knotz gave her the role and now they both don't like each other after that she unfriended me

@MatthewC17 Huh? You're making no sense. One, that's not how casting works, second, Michele has only been voice acting since 2003 (when she won the 2003 Big Apple Anime Fest Anime Idol Voice Acting Contest). I highly doubt she was considered to voice Jessie way back in 1997 (6 years before her career began).

@MatthewC17 If what you're claiming has any remote truth to it, then you clearly weren't talking to her in the first place. FACT: Michele Knotz is still voicing Jessie. FACT: Michele Knotz was not voice acting back when the show first began.

Rachel's voice is better. It's just that I'm more used to hearing her as Jessie than I am used to hearing Michelle's Jessie voice. :)

Rachael for the win! Although, as much as I hate PUSA's voice cast, Michele is one of the few who manage to actually do their job as a 'sound alike' and actually sound alike.

Though I generally go for the originals when it comes to Pokémon compares, I actually like Michele's a lot more and think she's fantastic as Jessie. So she wins it for me, but I'll take Rachael as Misty anytime!

Michelle goes way too high pitched alot of the time. Rachel Lillis had an edge to her voice that just can't be topped.

Rachael is best. If she got rid of Wobbuffet in Best Wishes then I will be crushed. He was the best part of team rocket.

well, Rachael is by FAR better, but Michelle did a good job of taking her place. at first I couldn't even notice the difference between the two voices! :)

i definitely choose Rachael, her voice for Jessie is the best. Michelle's voice for Jessie sounds too girly and too much like may's. but Rachael's is number one

Michele may be trying her best with her role, but Rachael's is sooo much better and has so much more effort and personality. I love the old Jessie's voice :(

They're both great... If I had to choose one, I'd have to pick Rachael for the intensity and anger she always brought to the role. But truthfully, I'm just as fond of Michele's Jessie as I ever was of Rachael's.

Rachael Lillis did a top-notch job bringing Jessie to life. Michelle Knotz sounds somewhat subdued in her performance, but she did grow into the role later on, I guess. ^^"

Michele Knotz. I liked Rachel Lillis' Jessie at the start, but it eventually got worse to me. I really can't put my finger on why it doesn't sound that great.

Rachael. I don't like the new version of Pokemon. It's not nostalgia-it's my preference. I liked the newer versions of DBZ, so I'm not one to base anything on the people I hear first. But Rachael's Jessie was amazing. She grew into the role, but she also brought so much to it--made you care about Jessie, and wow, the original cast had such chemistry. The new cast doesn't have that. Michelle has some voice matching going on with this character, but there's no soul, no personality whatsoever. I don't mean to be mean, but PUSA screwed over the original voice actors AND the fans.

I agree that Michele Knotz does a good job, but the original voice actors can never be replaced. Rachel Lillis is my choice!

Michele Knotz. Rachael's performance as Jessie is great. But it feels to much like her standard villainess, she uses the exact same. voice, tone, method, and attitude for Ursula in Dinosaur King.

Both sound similar, but I'll have to go with Rachael Lillis, because I grew up with her Jessie. She also seems to understand the role better than Michele.
