Voice Compare » Over the Hedge » Verne
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Verne with sound clips and images.
Verne is the quiet, reluctant leader of forest animals from the Over the Hedge franchise. He is always playing things safe - cautious and weary of nearly anything new or of change. He is easygoing and is a stickler for rules and consistency. So when the loose and causal RJ shows up, this really throws a monkey-wrench into Verne's well-laid plans. Verne eventually learns to accept RJ, despite his initial reaction to him.

EDITOR'S OPINION
Garry Shandling provided the voice of Verne for both the theatrical movie and the short based on the movie. Garry's higher-pitched, almost "whiny" voice fit very well with Verne's eternally cautious character. Drew Massey took over the role for the video game adaptation. Drew's performance, although not his best work, is an adequate replacement: similarly higher-pitched and whiny. As the original, Garry takes my vote for this one.

Drew Massey's voice here... he kinda sounds like Tom Lenk.
