Voice Compare » One Piece » Arlong
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Arlong with sound clips and images.
Saw-Tooth Arlong is the Captain of the Arlong Pirates, a former member of the Sunny Pirates and originally had the highest bounty in the East Blue.
In the English dub anime of One Piece, Arlong was first voiced by David Wills in the 4Kids version and voiced by Chris Rager in the Funimation version. In the English dub by Odex he was voiced by Brian Zimmerman.

EDITOR'S OPINION
David Wills and Chris Rager were both fantastic! I slightly prefer Chris Rager's voice because I think it sounds the most menacing. David's voice was definitely one of the standout voices in the 4Kids dub for sure IMO. There isn't much to go on Brian Zimmerman's clip unfortunately since I wasn't able to find more, but it sounds like it has potential.Jackson_H

I actually really like David Willis' voice here, the echo just fits his monstrous appearance, it also kind of sounds like he's gargling which fits given how aquatic he looks. I also love the growl he adds, so even without the echo he still sounds really good.
Chris Rager sounds fittingly gruff, but I can't get Hercule/Mr. Satan out of my head when I hear his voice and as such I can't take his Arlong performance as seriously as I'm supposed to.
Brian Zimmerman is hard to judge given that he only says one word, but it doesn't sound too impressive...if a better clip surfaces I'll post again, to see if I change my mind on him or not, doesn't seem too promising though.
So with that said, I'm voting for David Willis, Chris Rager as a somewhat close second, and Brian Zimmerman last...for now at least.

Chris Rager is amazing especially in the scenes where Arlong shows his brutality and when he laughs

Chris Rager's evil Mr Satan voice best suited the character. David Willis (who was great as Buggy) was wooden and unthreatening in the role. I can't fully judge Zimmerman but he sounds like Cookie Monster in that clip.

@Galactic_Cyrus I also hate how 4Kids made him have an echo in his voice

I never heard the japanese when I came up with the voice, so I like mine better.

David sounded more villain-ish and more...fishy XD
While Chirs sounded threating at times there was a 'evil Mr. Satan' so I'd go with David but Chirs as a close second

I call for a tie between David and Chris. I always thought Kirk Thornton would have a good voice for Arlong, but that's probably because he voices another shark man...

So I added Brian Zimmerman. Unfortunately all he says is one word "Octy" (A.K.A. Hatchi/Hatchan).
If anyone finds a longer clip I'll make sure it'll be used instead of the current clip.

Listening to Chris Rager's version of Arlong is like listening to a very sadistic Hercule/Mr. Satan.
Yeah, I know he's voiced by the same actor. Don't need to tell me anything.

i go with david because it sounds more sinister and less funny than chris. it sounds good because it didn't try to sound exactly like the japanese yet had still the same effect of the character. also chris kept reminding me of videls dad from dragonball z. david could have grown into the character better after time if arlong was still around.

I thought that both were pretty good! Wills always sounded chilling, while Rager sounded like the Japanese voice, there were times when he didn't sound like Mr. Satan! I liked them both, but I'll go with Rager because it's very accurate to the Japanese.
