Voice Compare » Naruto » Pain
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Pain with sound clips and images.
Tendo Pain also known as the Deva Path of Pain is a major antagonist in the Naruto: Shippuden anime series, the recognized leader of Akatsuki and one of the Six Paths of Pain.
In the English dub version of the first Naruto anime series he was first heard in episode 135. Dave Wittenberg provided the voice. For the English dub version of Naruto: Shippuden, he is voiced by Troy Baker.

Both are good, but I obviously have to go with Troy on this one. Dave really does sound too much like Kakashi.

Dave didn't sound like Kakashi to me AT ALL. I didn't even know. He just sounded too young and raspy compared to Troy.
Well, I guess that's only compared to Troy. Otherwise I think that both of them were perfectly fit Pain. Just I'm used to Troy and visualize him as Troy most so I prefer Troy Baker. "Know Pain." lol

@diabloking My point exactly.
@jackson,@tahko It's a real shame if that's the case, since the Japanese generally do better with voice casting. XD

Dave Wittenberg makes him sound almost exactly like Kakashi. I don't quite understand why others would prefer him (no offense).

"Why aren't Japanese or other foreign voice actors included in the Voice Compare?
I guess you could say we're primarily an English site, for the simple fact our team only speaks and understands English. Adding foreign languages to the voice compare would just promote a language war which we would rather avoid, not the mention the extra workload involved to add hundreds of different languages. We do however plan to add Japanese and other foreign language clips to the site such as character and TV Show pages, just not the voice compare."

True but that's all there kind of is for now. The English dub of Naruto Shippuden isn't that far along and the available DVDs only have so much and aren't that much further than Disney XD. When Pain is featured more in episodes with more dialogue I'll upload a better sound clip. :)

There really needs to be more to go on for Troy's clip. Most of it doesn't have dialogue.
