Voice Compare » Naruto » Mizuki
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Mizuki with sound clips and images.
Mizuki is the first antagonist in the Naruto series as a Shinobi from the Leaf Village. Mizuki was once the Childhood friend of Naruto's original mentor Iruka Umino, in his childhood Mizuki would try to help Iruka feel better when Iruka was sad that his parents died protecting the village however Mizuki started to hate Iruka when just about everyone else was treating Iruka well. Mizuki became resentful and arrogant as he became an adult as he was only wanting to become stronger in which early in the series he tried to manipulate Naruto into stealing the Scroll of Seals from the Leaf Village to get stronger, Mizuki was nice to Naruto at first but then revealed his true personality after Naruto has successfully stolen the scrolls which lead to his downfall. While Mizuki was a one-shot villain in the official storyline the first Naruto anime series did give Mizuki a bigger role by being the eponymous villain of the "Mizuki Strikes Back" Arc.
EDITOR'S OPINIONToday we have a VC for the man whom is the first antagonist of the Naruto series... MIZUKI! This time we shall start with the English dub of the TV series in which Mizuki was voiced by Michael "Matt Ishida" Reisz. Michael did fairly well with the role as his voice was fairly good for the role and performance did suit on how Mizuki can go from an affable young man to a treacherous schemer whom is only out for power. While I will admit that Michael Reisz's performance as Mizuki is not one of the most memorable performances in the show but it does get the job done well enough and is a good example of the voice work in the dub of the show.
The only video game that Mizuki was a playable (let alone seen) character that has had a US release is the Nintendo Gamecube game Naruto Clash of Ninja 2 in which apparently Michael Reisz was not available so surprisingly enough they got Josh Keaton to voice Mizuki. While Josh does occasionally slip into his Spider Man voice in this game his voice does have that arrogant angry feel which does suit the role pretty well. However while Mizuki was rarely ever a big role to begin with in this game Mizuki was an unlockable character that was just a slightly modified version of Iruka Umino so in other words Josh Keaton didn't have all that much to work with here. While Josh Keaton's work as Mizuki wasn't one of his most memorable works he does show that he has some pretty good potential with this role. Overall while Michael Reisz had more material to work with I am actually not sure who to go with this time as both of these guys did pretty well here.
