Scootaloo is a young orange pony with a purple mane.

In the Generation 3.5 series, she is an Earth pony who favors games and sports. In Friendship is Magic, she is a tomboyish and impulsive pegasus pony who is a member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, a trio consisting of herself, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle whose main objective is to discover their special talents and earn their cutie marks. Although she has not yet learned to fly, she is quite agile and is able to perform amazing stunts on her scooter, though she has not yet realized her talent for this. She idolizes the older pegasus pony Rainbow Dash and displays sycophantic behavior when she is in the vicinity.

EDITOR'S OPINION

In a shocking turn of events in terms of My Little Pony voice compares thus far, this two incarnations of Scootaloo are actually similar to each other in that both are sports-favoring ponies with an infatuation for "coolness". However, given the tame nature of the G3.5 series, Germain's Scootaloo hardly sounds any tougher than the other ponies despite supposedly being the tomboy of the group. Since Friendship is Magic is not bound by the same air of saccharinity as the Generation 3 works were, Peters is much more free to perform as the brash tomboy that Scootaloo was intended to be, and she pulls it off while sounding authentically like a child quite nicely. My vote goes to Peters.
