Voice Compare » Mortal Kombat » Sonya Blade
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Sonya Blade with sound clips and images.
Sonya Blade is one of the original protagonists of the Mortal Kombat series and the original female character of the series whom made her debut in the first Mortal Kombat game. Sonya Blade is a Lieutenant in the US Special Forces Unit whom originally got herself involved in the Mortal Kombat tournaments by going to the same boat that Liu Kang and Johnny Cage were in to follow the dangerous criminal Kano but is now suppose to be in the Mortal Kombat tournament to save Earthrealm. Sonya is a very brave and strong-mannered woman whom has a strong sense of justice but is also incredibly impulsive and stubborn. Sonya is the 2nd in command to Major Jax Briggs whom she strongly respects, Johnny Cage has a crush on her in which she initially found him annoying but she does start to gradually tolerate him.
EDITOR'S OPINIONToday on the Mortal Kombat VC section the first female character fromt he MK series to get a VC shall be for the first lady in the series... SONYA BLADE! Since this is a rather decent sized VC I shall do a little list of my choices in total here...
1. Jennifer Hale & Dana Lyn Baron (Tie)- They both give a very strong mannered but quite natural performance in which their respective works suit the role very well.
2. Christine Rios- Her voice for the role was rather fitting but her performance doesn't quite have as much of an energy as the aforementioned ladies above.
3. Olivia d Abo- Her voice was perhaps a little too high but she gave a very energetic performance as she definitely played up how impulsive Sonya can be (granted sometimes perhaps a little too much but still.)
4. Kerri Hoskins- Is alright as her voice is a pretty good fit for the role while her performance as Sonya is probably one of the better performances in that game her work on the role is only average compared to the others. But still Kerri's voice work as Sonya is not bad especially if you hear it under its own merits.
Overall I am going with Jennifer Hale and Dana Lyn Baron the most but not of these ladies were bad for the role here.
