Voice Compare » Mighty Thor » Piledriver
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Piledriver with sound clips and images.
Piledriver A.K.A Brian Philip Calusky is one of the Members of the Wrecking Crew whom are foes to Thor and alike Thunderball and Bulldozer his comic bok debut was in Defenders #17 in November of 1974. Brian Calusky was born in Brooklyn, New York but was raised in a barn and became a barnhand but he went into a life of crime because he thought that life on the Barn was too boring then he got arrested and was in Jail at Ryker's Island where he met Dirk Garthwaite A.K.A Wrecker. Alike Thunderball and Bulldozer, Piledriver got his powers from Wrecker when they made a successful Jailbreak as his powers are super strength and invulnerability (and sometimes his hands would be depicted as larger because of his strength). One unique aspect about Piledriver in the Wrecking Crew is that he is the only one in the group whom has actually fathered a child by the name of Ricky Calusky (A.K.A Excavator) whom occasionally joined the Wrecking Crew in the comics.

EDITOR'S OPINIONToday on the Mighty Thor VC section here is the 4th and last VC for the Wrecking Crew whom is none other than... PILEDRIVER! In Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Piledriver was voiced by Michael Gough. Michael's voice for the role was pretty good, and his performance did suit Piledriver's boisterous nature pretty well. Granted Piledriver only had about one line in the game but Michael's work on the role was pretty good nevertheless.
In the Super Hero Squad, Piledriver had a speaking role for one episode and was voiced by Travis Willingham. While the idea of Travis voicing Piledriver did seem like a pretty good idea as Travis's voice for the role is alright. However the only line that Piledriver had in the series was to just say "Yeah!" and scream in pain and well that was it. (I mean I know that the Wrecking Crew were just relatively minor secondary characters here but still.) Anyways Travis does show a decent amount of potential for the role here at least.
In Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Piledriver was voiced by Nolan North. First of all Nolan does earn some points on how Piledriver actually has more than one line in this show here. However Nolan's work as Piledriver was a bit of a mixed bag as while his voice on the role wasn't really bad but to me it was a little too high, though Nolan's performance was pretty good as it does suit Piledriver's violent nature. Overall none of these guys are all that "perfect" for the role but I do think that I will slightly go with Michael Gough more as his voice was the most suiting here.
(Update: Cam Clarke has voiced Piledriver in USM but while his performance does suit Piledriver's "Brutish thug" persona pretty well but his voice for the role is kind of so-so as its not really bad but its a bid odd here sort to speak. So to make a long story short I am still going with Michael Gough here.)
