Today on the Mega Man VC section we have a little something for Lan Hikari's first rival i the Mega Man Battle Network series... CHAUD! We shall of course begin this with the English dub of the 1st Mega Man Battle Network anime A.K.A Mega Man NT Warrior in which Bill Switzer is the one to voice Chaud. Bill did a rather impressive job with this one as his voice and performance does suit on how Chaud can go from calm & aloof to rather smug pretty well. To make a long story short Billy's overall performance as Chaud is one of the better performances in that dub and is probably one of Billy's better performances.

Now when ShoPro/Viz did dub Mega Man Axess apparently Bill Switzer could not reprise the role so stage actor Scott Perrie got to take over the role here. First of all I must say that I like on how Scott's voice for the role did sound a lot like Bill's did okay I admit its not impossible to tell the difference but the voices do sound rather similar. Oh yes and Scott's performance for the role was also pretty suiting for Chaud's rather aloof persona as well and its a good example of the voice work in the English dub for Mega Man Axess. Overall both of these guys were very good for Chaud, I suppose I would go for Bill Switzer the most but Scott Perrie was a good stand-in.

Scott honestly sounds very bored and flat.

Bill sounds really smug and cocky, and I think it works well for Chaud.

Bill Switzer was freaking awesome as Chaud. He nailed his very smug, condescending and aloof attitude perfectly. He brought a lot of charm, something that Scott Perrie was lacking.

Scott his acting is not that great at all. He's really flat and monotone sounding.

Definitely giving my vote to Bill.

I think Adrian Petriw would have been a better replace for Bill as Chaud in all honesty.

Bill has more personality and energy, but Scott sounds more age appropriate yet sounds too monotone as well...going with Bill.

Scott Perrie all the way. Bill Switzer may've had more personality, but it wasn't that fitting of a personality for anime! Chaud. It worked fine for his jerkish moments, but most of the time he's just aloof and focused on the mission at hand rather than an out and out jerk. I also think Scott sounds more age-appropriate to boot.

I'm gonna be flat out honest: I thought Perrie fit the character better in every way. In age and in personality.

Having played the games I can easily say the Switzer fit BN1-3 Chaud and Perrie fit B4-6 Chaud, but there was something to Perrie that just made him more memorable to me.

I think David Vincent would be awesome as Chaud, after all, he did the voices of Richter Belmont from Castlevania, Archer from Fate/Zero, and General Loki from Blue Dragon.

Bill Switzer definitely, when I first heard Scott Perrie I honestly thought it was some sort of impostor in the show pretending to be Chaud, but no. It was the real deal which surprised me, he sounded REALLY monotone and didn't bring as much personality to the character as Bill did.

Seeing as Chaud does go from a "bad kid" to a more helping role as the show progressed I prefer Scott because he has a more neutral sounding voice. And sounds a bit younger than Bill, and seeing that Chaud is only about 13, it sounds more appropriate.
