Voice Compare » Marvel Universe » Nova
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Nova with sound clips and images.
(Note: While plenty of sites have claimed that Robert Tinkler voiced Nova in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 we at BTVA are highly doubting the legitimacy of this claim due to Robert being a Toronto-based actor.)
Nova is the eponymous character of the Nova series whom made his comic book debut in Nova #1 in September of 1976. Nova has had two alter egos over the years but their original stories are similar namely a brash and impulsive high school boy whom was given the chance to be a new member of the Nova Corps. Nova has a lot of super powers (some of his more unique ones include energy absorption and gravity control). While Nova is of course a known member of the Nova Corps he has been involved with other super hero groups such as Avengers, Defenders and the New Warriors.

EDITOR'S OPINION
Today on the Marvel Universe VC section we take a look at the "Human Bullet" himself... NOVA! Let us begin...Jason Marsden- Jason's work on the role is decent, as he does give a good try to give a more traditionally heroic take on the role but Nova does come off as kind of generic here. So in other words Jason's work as Nova is not bad but not one of his better performances.
Troy Baker- Troy's somewhat gruff voice for the role works as his performance suit's Nova's brash and cocky persona well. So in other words Troy's work on the role is a good example of his work and of the voice work in that game.
Logan Miller- Before anyone asks yeah I am aware of Nova's different alter ego in the show but still over than that this is still very much Nova. Logan's voice does certainly work for this younger take on the role as his performance does suit Nova's brash and impulsive persona here well enough. So in other words while Nova is depicted as a more serious minded hero in this show Logan does a pretty good job in trying to make it work.
Overall I liked with Troy the most with Logan at second and Jason at an okay third...

I haven't heard my perfect Nova yet, and since Sam Alexander is the current Nova on TV and in comics, it's likely I never will. Troy comes closest though.

I'm going with Troy Baker. Jason Marsden is okay too. I just hate the Sam Alexander version of Nova so I put Logan Miller as third.

I like Troy, he made Nova seem cocky and arrogant while making him kinda likable. Logan's alright but he kinda over does it. Don't get me wrong he's not bad but it's more a-hole then anything else.
I want to like Jason's since I like him but he didn't do anything great in the role which I'm pretty sure he can looking at some of his other roles.

Jason and Logan work for the material they're given, but my vote goes to Troy.

Troy Baker for Richard Ryder, and Logan Miller for Sam Alexander.

I'm gonna go with Troy Baker for Nova. I thought his voice really suited the original Richard Ryder version of Nova. That said, Jason Marsden.
Logan Miller was good as the Sam Alexander Nova, but I really hate that version of Nova.

@Anicomicgeek I couldn't find any info. What's his backstory?

@Anicomicgeek Sorry, I meant to say "That said, Jason Marsden was good as Rcihard, too."

@pete From what I can tell, they haven't gone into it yet.

@Anicomicgeek I meant how he got his powers or at least when he first appeared in he comics or a comic he's in.

@pete Point One #1, but again, they haven't gone into how he got the powers outside of Richard Ryder dying in an earlier story.

I'll vote for Troy, with Jason as second best. Logan's take comes at a DISTANT third.

@Music Meister Not a fan. He sounds way too obnoxious. Then again, the character isn't too pleasant either.

@D.A.V.E. I blame that kind of thing on the writing, not necessarily on the voice actors.
