Voice Compare » Madeline » Lord Cucuface
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Lord Cucuface with sound clips and images.
Lord Cucuface is a secondary recurring character in the Madeline series who made his debut in the series in Madeline's Rescue. Lord Cucuface's real name is Lord Covington but Cucuface was a nickname that Madeline made for him in which Lord Cucuface was offended by it at first but over the course of the series has taken it in stride. Anyways Lord Cucuface is the landlord of the Boarding School that Miss Clavel and the girls live in and is the chairman of the School board. Lord Cucuface is a rather prideful man who was originally depicted in a somewhat antagonistic role as he was at first strongly against letting the dog Genevieve live with the girls regardless of the fact that the dog recently saved Madeline however he does soon change his mind and becomes a lot nicer after his introductory story.

EDITOR'S OPINIONToday on the Madeline VC section we take a look at the refined Lord Coving... eh I mean LORD CUCUFACE! Maintenant nous commencer, non?
AJ Hendserson- AJ's attempt at the French accent does sound quite authentic (though I suppose it is no surprise since AJ is from Quebec, Canada) and AJ's nasally snobbish voice does suit the role well. But still AJ's performance does suit Cucuface's irritable and snobbish persona well (even though Cucuface does get nicer later on). Anyways AJ's work on the role is a good example of his work and of the voice work in the earlier specials.
French Tickner- While it does seem a bit odd that French's voice for the role sounds a bit more British than French (though yes it is a slightly odd irony that a man by the name of French is playing a French Man like a Brit) but other than that French's voice for the role is not bad. French's performance for the role is rather good as while Cucuface maybe still a rather prim and prideful man he has generally become a lot nicer as well and is a good example of French's work.
Overall I am not entirely sure who to go with here as for voice I suppose I will slightly go with AJ since he did a French accent (and a very good one at that) but both of these guys did good performances for the role here.
