Voice Compare » Lion King » Simba
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Simba with sound clips and images.
What else do we need to say here. Simba is the hero and main character from the Lion King Franchise. As an adult, he dealt with many issues surrounding the death of his father including fear and guilt. Eventually though he would take his place as the true King of the Jungle.
Before we get into my picks though lets clear up who voiced who when for those out there not aware, and because it can be confusing at times...
As for the adult version of this classic character, it started out with Ferrie Bueller, I mean Matthew Broderick doing the speaking voice in the movie, while son of famed composer John Williams, Joseph Williams, provided the singing voice. Broderick also voiced the adult version in both Lion King 1 and 1/2 and Lion King 2.
Cam Clarke is the only other voice actor to take on the adult role of Simba, which he did in the TV Series, Timon and Pumbaa, as well as in the Kingdom Hearts game. Interestingly Clarke also provided the singing voice in the movie, Lion King 2.

EDITOR'S OPINION
Simba is by far one of my All-Time Favorite Disney characters and I absolutely LOVE his voice. The weirdest thing is that I love his voice pretty much no matter who is doing it.I think Cam Clarke and Broderick have very similar sounding voices. I am a huge fan of Cam Clarke but on this one I have to give the nod to Broderick.

They're actually all pretty good (Joseph has a nice little singing voice imo)
Broderick was of course the original and fits Simba really well, but his acting is amazingly wooden.
On the other hand, Cam Clarke also fits Simba really well, but the thing is this is a VOICE compare and I feel that Cam sounded more like a king which Simba is. His acting gets my vote, though Mathew come very close. :)

Broderick is almost as bland a voice actor as he is a live action actor! Even as a kid I thought he was boring as Simba.
Cam personality really brings Simba to life, and he sings too! I wish Disney would've given him the role in the movie, but I guess they really wanted a celebrity name to help sell the film.

Surprise surpirse but I like Cam more, he has the deeper voice that sounds more like a king. Broderick sounds like he's a little fragel even towards the end when he's after Scar, he doesn't sound all that natural

By "not feeling natural" I meant his performance when he's fighting Scar.

Matthew since he had the main original role and did an amazing job with it! But all three sound very good and in character

1. Matthew Broderick - He originated the role
2. Cameron Clarke - He is the worthy sucessor
3. Joe Williams - He has a nice singing voice but I don't think he could do the speaking voice of Simba

To be fair Cam Clarke, does a great job sounding like Broderick. Heck, he was even his singing voice in Lion King 2.
