Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Tigress with sound clips and images.
Tigress is one of the protagonists in the Kung Fu Panda series whom has been around since right from the start. Tigress is the unofficial leader of the Furious Five, the foster daughter of Shifu and is the master of the Tiger Style of Hung Ga Kung Fu. The best way to describe Tigress' personality would be aggressive, stoic, brave and very stern and while she may often have a rather serious and occasionally cold persona she does have a softer side that she only occasionally shows. While Tigress was at first rather bitter and cold towards Po at first (mainly because she deemed him to be a pathetic idiot and thought she was far more deserving to be the Dragon Warrior) but over the course of the series she understands Po's role as Dragon Warrior and has respected him a lot more over the course of the series.

EDITOR'S OPINION
Today on the Kung Fu Panda VC section we take a look at this tail-kicking tiger-striped heroine TIGRESS! Let us begin...Angelina Jolie- Angelina was a pretty good choice as Tigress as her voice and performance do fit the role of Tigress as a strong-mannered heroine with occasional issues. Anyways Angelina's performance does suit Tigress' colder and warmer moments and of course when she is ready to fight the forces of evil in which her work on the role is a fine example of the voice work in the movies.
Erin Torpey- Erin's work on the role is not really bad per say but it is rather inconsistent. As Erin's voice for the role is pretty good and does sound like Angelina's voice for the role... but only when she is calmly speaking. During the scenes where Tigress is shouting on the other hand does Erin's voice for the role sound a bit more strained (in which she even occasionally sounds a bit boyish.) So in other words Erin's work on the role is not really bad but its not one of her better performances.
Kari Wahlgren- Kari's voice for the role maybe a bit higher than Angelina's but I do think that Kari's voice for Tigress still does genuinely work for the role. As for Kari's performance for the role it certainly suit's Tigress' stern but genuinely heroic persona and it does also suit on how Tigress is very much the more serious-minded and traditional counterpart to Po and is a good example of Kari's voice work and of the voice work in the show.
Overall I am going with Angelina and Kari the most with Erin at an okay second.

Jolie brought virtually no personality to the character, and was a classic case of hiring someone for their name, rather than their talent.

Personally I felt Jolie was playing the type of character she always plays she I couldn't get into her take. Erin's attempt at a Jolie impression is pretty good till she yells but not bad.
I think this is a rare time where I think the Show's voice actor was better then the movie's, I liked Kari's voice more then Jolie. Kari seemed to do better at comical moments and I just felt more energy from her then Jolie.

I'm gonna go with Angelina Jolie, though I also liked Kari Wahlgren's Tigress.

Personally I am more used to Tigress with a deeper pitch voice so I'll go with Angelina Jolie, not only that but because she brings out Tigress' stern and serious personality very well, and can even pull off her lighter moments too.
Kari Wahlgren comes at a close second, I notice that Tigress is portrayed differently in the TV show but really gets down her personality in LOA as well.
I must give credit to Erin Torpey for not trying to sound like Angie in the game. Not bad: but not very memorable.
