Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Po with sound clips and images.

Po is the main character of the Kung Fu Panda series whom has been in the series right from the start. Po is a young Panda in his 20's who is the adopted son of Mr. Ping a Goose who is the owner of a local Noodle Shop. Po is a classic example of a big lovable oaf and is also a classic example of being the "Chosen One" as Master Oogway has deemed him to be the Dragon Warrior even though Shifu and the Furious Five (especially Tigress) were rather against that decision at first. However Po has proven himself to be a capable martial artist and hero in his own unconventional way in which while he does openly embrace his role as Dragon Warrior he still does try to make time for his dear foster father Mr Ping.

EDITOR'S OPINION

Alright folks the first Kung Fu Panda VC shall be for none other than the leading panda himself... PO! Let us begin!

Jack Black- Jack maybe typecast-ed as a big loud lovable oaf especially in his screen acting roles but his voice work as Po is a fine reason why he is known for doing these roles rather well. Jack's performance for the role definitely suits Po's various comedic moments and his various serious moments as well and is a fine example of the voice work in the movies.

Mick Wingert- Mick's work on the role is one of the most impressive cases of "Stand-in" performances I have ever heard as Mick definitely sounds a lot like Jack Black. Mick's performance was also very good as it suited Po's "Lovable Oaf" persona very well and is a fine example of the voice work in the show.

Overall I am going with a tie as while Jack Black is great in the role, Mick's work on the role is very good too (in which some people were actually surprised that Jack Black didn't reprise the role in the TV series and I can understand why).

This is by far the best voice compare ever I never even realised it was a different guy Mick captures Po's character so well and sounds just like Jack Black

Mick does an okay job, he actually sounds like Jack except maybe a little bit younger sounding.

Both voices are great for this character. They sound SO MUCH alike. It almost sounds like the same performance!

Personally I think since Mick is doing a damn good impression takes more skill then someone using their own voice without really changing it. Voting for Mick.

Voice acting is not about the voice, it's about the acting, as any voice actor would tell you. Acting is about creating your own character rather than imitating someone else's. Anyone can imitate, but it takes real skill to create.

My gut instinct is to go with Jack, but Mick does an uncanny impression. It's hard to tell the difference.

Awesome, been looking forward to this VC!

Anyway, it's a very close call but I'm going with Jack Black because he maybe typecast-ed like Pokejedservo mentioned: but what can I say? He is PERFECT for Po whether he is funny, serious and of course a loud lovable oaf. :)

Mick Wingert however does get an honorable mention as he is probably the best stand-in I have ever heard, seriously.
