She-Hulk

Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of She-Hulk with sound clips and images.
Franchise: Hulk

She-Hulk is the alter-ego of the small and meek lawyer Jennifer Susan Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner. Following an attempt on her life by operatives of a crime boss who had crossed paths with her sheriff father, Bruce hastily provided his own irradiated blood for a transfusion. Like her cousin, Walters can transform into She-Hulk when her adrenalin levels reach a certain point. However, unlike the Hulk, She-Hulk is feisty, fun-loving and idealistic, and has the ability to break the fourth wall.

2. Rebecca Shoichet enjoyed her take and wouldn't mind hearing her reprise the role

3. Maria canals sounded really good in MvC 3

4. Alicia Coppla her clip sounded pretty good

"You guys all know I'm a Hulk, right? And you know what happens when Hulks get angry, right? They lose control. And then...things get smashed. It's not the Hulk's fault. It's just how it is. And you guys...ARE MAKING ME MAAAAAD!''

She Hulk's absence from the MCU has been disappointing for me and Conbined with her Bad Treatment in Civil War 2, I'm thinking she needs more love from the Staff at Marvel....

Anyway, Here are Are Top 5 Favourite for one of my Favourite Fantastic 4 Members:

5. Victoria Carroll
4. Katee Sackhoff
3. Maria Canals-Barrera
2. Cree Summer/ Misty Lee
1. Rebecca Shoichet

Future VA Suggestions:

I think Jen Taylor (tee hee) would be FANTASTIC as She Hulk, using a Deeper and Huskier version of Her Cortana voice.

Maggie Q could also be a solid voice for She Hulk, using a more witty and Sultry version of her Wonder Woman voice.

I also recommend Erica Luttrell, Pamela Adlon, Amanda Winn Lee and Annie Wersching.

VC thoughts update

I actually like Victoria Carroll the most. I really like her husky voice and her delivery is quite solid. She sounds tough and seductive at the same time. She also has some good chemistry with Bob Holt's Hulk.

Cree Summer has a lighter but still soothing voice and some really solid delivery. She also makes her quite likeable.

Lisa Zane kinda overacts at times, but she still is quite solid. She does go overboard with the seductive side, but she isn't bad. I quite like her.

Mary Faber sounds pretty good in the role. I would love to hear her in the role again.

Maria Canals sounds pretty fitting. She has a really nice husky sounding voice and pretty energetic delivery.

I also like Alicia Coppola, Grey DeLisle, Eliza Dushku and Misty Lee in the role.

Rebecca Shoichet and Katee Sackhoff are the only ones that don't leave a big impression on me.

1. Rebecca Schoichet - Love her voice for She-Hulk! Sounds very likable and tough IMO.

2. Maria Canals - I like her take almost as much as Rebecca's, but I just think Rebecca's voice is slightly more fitting at the end of the day.

3. Misty Lee - She does a pretty enjoyable take on She-Hulk as well I'd say, love the charisma in her voice!

4. Cree Summer - I rather like the strength in her performance here!

5. Victoria Carroll - She does a nice job as well I think. Like the "husky" sound in her voice.

6. Liza Zane/Katee Sackhoff - I guess they're both okay in the role, but not my favourite though.

7. Alica Coppola - Decent enough I suppose, not much else to say about it aside from that.

8. Grey Delisle/Mary Faber - Neither sound particularly "great" but at the very least I think they're more passable than...

9. Eliza Dushku - Sorry... but she sounds like a complete miscast here, if I'm being honest.

For me it's a tie between Maria Canals and Rebecca Schoichet; both are equally god in their own merits. Maria for her tough but still elegant attitude and lawful character, and Rebecca for her alluring tone.

Cree Summer on the other hand has always been a favorite of mine, mainly as a fan of Cree in general, but for me I like how she makes her sound young but still strong and mature while generally having fun with the character.

Liza Zane, doesn't bode well with me, she makes the character sound a bit too sexualized in my opinion.

Still better than Eliza Dushku though! Seriously, this was a major miscast, followed by an insulting adulteration of the character altogether. Yeah Shulkie is strong, abrasive, and action packed, but there's more to her than that; she's a lawyer and an intelligent one at that, but in SMASH... She's just another action star whoopty-derp; and Eliza's performance does not even help in the slightest. She's a good actress sure, but she clearly did not have the right material to work with for the character.

Misty Lee on the other hand... well I may be a bit too hard on Misty as a voice actress sometimes, but this is probably one of her better performances; and certainly a better She-Hulk than Dushku! And at the very least, they acknowledge her character as an attorney, and her attitude and charisma here actually does kinda work in favor of the nature of Jennifer Walters, who is strong, but also smart, funny, and overall a talented woman who grew up in a
sophisticated upbringing.

Alicia Coppola's got a passable tone for the character, but wow is she snobbish! I wouldn't mind her reprising, if only to have her be kinder and more open minded as the character should be.

Katee Sackhoff, Grey Delisle, and Mary Faber were alright; Grey in particular almost sounds like Cree to an extent.

BONUS:
I said this a while before, and I still stick to my guns; Janet Varney would make an amazing She-Hulk. Typecasted...? Mmm depends! Sure she'd sound more or less like Korra, but then again she could use more credits in voice acting anyway, so I think her performance would totally nail the character for Jen.

Of course there's also Jennifer Hale Vanessa Marshall, Kari Wahlgren, or even Laura Bailey. Definitely more typecasted, but if either try to do more with the voice to add more to the character, they're always welcome. (Laura's Widow voice in particular would be better for Shulkie, as long as she still adds more levity and charm to go with the performance)

Now for less of a typecast, I'd Mary Elizabest McGlyyn, or at the very least as Autovolt suggested, Megan Hollingshead or Tara Platt, if only to hear them branch out more in Western Animation. Maybe

Maybe, Courtenay Taylor, GK Bowes or Danielle Nicolet as well; who I all find underutilized.

Then there's my own personal celebrity pick, Rosario Dawson. Yeah she played both Artemis and Wonder Woman herself, so it can be kind'a typecasted, but Rosario as a celeb does make for great voice overs (and again, certainly better than Dushku) If she adds the right amount of energy and charisma while playing to the character's integrity, she's make an awesome and lovely She-Hulk.

I don't know too much about She-Hulk but I know she needs to have a deep, low but not too low of a voice.

I think Rebecca Shoichet and Cree Summer fit this role the best.

Rebecca is an awesome VA and she's been getting more recognition as of late thanks to MLP FIM but before all that she was She-Hulk and wow, I'm amazed just how low she can go with her voice. She's fun and snarky and just clicks all the right checkboxes in the role.

Cree Summer is a close second, I love how husky her voice is for She-Hulk and she sounds fantastic, I love the way she delivers the character.

Lisa Zane's delivery and her lines mark her sound way too hot for the role.

Katee Sackhoff is a bit flat sounding at times but also seems to have some fun with the role.

Victoria Carroll has a nice husky sound to her voice too.

Mary Faber and Grey DeLisle-Griffin average.

Alicia Coppola I think it's because MUA 2 adapted Civil War so this doesn't paint She-Hulk out as a likeable character which is unfortunate since her voice works for the role.

Maria Canals works for the game she's voicing in but I honestly can't see her working in an actual series.

Eliza Dushku sounds like she's phoning it in IMO.

Voting for Rebecca Shoichet.

BONUS: I've always thought Megan Hollingshead would make for an excellent She-Hulk. I could also see someone like Alesia Glidewell, Tara Platt or Meredith McCoy making for some excellent She-Hulks.

 8 Shout Outs!
1. Rebecca Shoichet
IMO, Rebecca was just perfect. Her voice was spunky and just right amount deep, and she nailed She-Hulk's strong, but fun-loving, personality.

2. Cree Summer
Cree was also great in the role. My only minor gripe is that there were moments when she overdid character's personality, but I have strong feeling that was more of director's fault than hers.

3. Katee Sackhoff
Easily one of the best performances we got out of SHSS. Maybe I'm little biased, since Katee is one of my all-time favorite actors and I have small celebrity crush on her, but she was seriously reall good. Would love to see her reprise the role in better show.

4. Victoria Carroll
Suprisingly good performance for its time. Victoria is little bit too deep (for my taste) and sounds older that I imagine the character being, but she did good job with the role nonetheless.

5. Grey DeLisle
She almost has the character down, but she definitely should make her voice deeper.

6. Maria Canals
I don't see why Maria is so popular. She isn't bad, but something about her just doesn't click with me. I know that she was playing the character in a fighting game, so there wasn't really a chance for her to truly shine. Maybe if she reprises the role someday, she could do better.

7. Eliza Dushku
You know what is more frustrating than wrong actor getting cast for the role? Perfect actor getting the role and be wasted. I'm 100% sure that Eliza could make perfect (maybe even the best) She-Hulk, but she currently is playing She-Hulk in name only. This version of She-Hulk has none of the personality traits we love about the character and she is reduced to the token girl of the group. Since Marvel loves to shove all their bad casting choices (*cough*adrianpasdar&drakebell*coughcough*) down our throats, I really hope that Eliza gets to reprise the role in something too.

8. Alicia Coppola/Mary Faber
They both share same problems. Their voices are way too light and they sound bored.

9. Lisa Zane
Lisa's voice is fine, but her performance is... interesting. She is overacting character's sultry side so much that, if you close your eyes, you think that she was playing the character in porn parody (her tranformation scene being rather infamous example of that). I know that She-Hulk is supposed to be really sexy and sultry, but this is going so much overboard that it's distracting.

Of all people, why Eliza Dushku as She Hulk? Had I been Andrea Romano I would have casted someone much better for the role:

Tara Strong, Jennifer Hale, Grey Delisle, Kari Wahlgren, Nika Futterman, Kate Higgans, Vanessa Marshall, Kimberly Brooks, Nicole Sullivan, or shoot even Laura Bailey!

She'd actually make a much better She-Hulk than she is Black Widow... Or actually--

Get Janet Varney to play She-Hulk! Yeah, frigg'n-A dude!

@Troodon2 So basically, every female VA who's been in every single thing ever made? Hyperbole, I know, but it does feel like I can't turn a corner without seeing at least one of them in something, and it's getting just a bit tiring. In spite of SMASH's mediocrity, at least they were trying something with Dushku.

Though I'll admit, Varney would be a decent choice and she certainly embodies the character's biggest traits. But a part of me's afraid that she'd be too recognizable as a physical action heroine in an LA production at this point.

But then again, that's probably just because I'm already picturing her as the bookish gadgety Batgirl amongst a Vancouverite cast, so I guess it's more of a personal gripe than anything :/

1. Cree Summers: I don't know why she isn't in the lead, she fits She Hulk to a T. She was feisty, she was fun, sexy, funny but could do the serious scenes. I think it's one of the best voice work in the show and a great example of Cree's work.

2. Lisa Zane- same as Cree but doesn't have the same energy. Also she seems to try a bit too hard at times to sound sexy but that doesn't happen a lot so she's fine.

3. Stephanie Brillon: It's good, has the playful side of She-Hulk and is pretty sexy plus still sounds tough. One problem is it's a tad light on several aspects but not bad.

4. Katee Sackhoff/Maria Canals: Both don't have the seductive or playful as well as the other three I mentioned but aren't terrible.

5. Alicia Coppola/Victoria Carrol: I feel a little bad for Victoria last but she didn't play the same type of She Hulk as the others so she had a disadvantage. Though Alicia isn't bad it's pretty generic.

@pete If an actor or actress are in MvC or any popular show most people vote for that actor even if they don't fit the character all that great. You can tell in some of the compares featuring Spect Spiderman actors, like the Tinkerer compare.

@Music Meister You're half right. The Marvel characters of (U)MvC3 are actually voice-acted pretty well at the very least. Sure, I wouldn't say they have the best voice acting, but they're still quite impressive, even by today's standards.

The Capcom characters are a completely different story...

@pokemastanumba1 Voice acted, yes. Best for the character, not for all. Taskmaster and She Hulk come to mind

@pete Because many people think that it suits the character.

@Music Meister

No, people vote for the VAs in MvC3, SSM, etc. because they think they're DO fit the character most.

You're beating a dead horse, dude. Everyone has their opinions and are entitled to them, so I suggest you GET OVER IT.

 3 Shout Outs!
They're all good as She-Hulk, but I'm going to give this one to Maria Canals.

@Anicomicgeek

Really not feeling Eliza Dushku as She-Hulk, as the character didn't really feel like She-Hulk to me, so I'm gonna stick with Maria Canals.

@Anicomicgeek

Grey DeLisle could've been better.

 2 Shout Outs!
I like Cree Summer the best. She fits Jennifer's fun-loving, sensitive personality really well.
