Voice Compare » Hulk » Doc Samson
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Doc Samson with sound clips and images.
Doc Samson is one of the secondary protagonists of the Hulk franchise in which he made his comic book debut in Incredible Hulk #141in July of 1971. Doc Samson is the alter ego of Dr. Leonard Samson whom was a psychiatrist whom initiative worked with the likes of Bruce Banner as a psychiatrist until he was exposed to Gamma Radiation which gave him a large muscular body with green hair. Doc Samson is very much the "Genius Bruiser" in this franchise as not only does he have a strong body like that Hulk but he is normally depicted to also being a very intelligent and sane man whom tries to help the Hulk and Bruce Banner as much as possible (as either one of his strongest allies or his only ally depending on the story). But still while Doc Samson is often depicted as a more intellectual and saner counterpart to Hulk there were certain stories in which the Doc has developed a secondary personality in which he becomes a lot more arrogant and macho (in which its been theorized that its due to certain subconscious desires that he has).

EDITOR'S OPINION
Today on the Hulk VC section we take a look at one of the Hulk's strongest foes... DOC SAMSON! So let us begin...Shadoe Stevens- I did like on how Shadoe's voice for the role did have a fairly low smooth feel as his performance does suit on how Doc is still very much a intellectual mind whom is trying to help Bruce Banner and the Hulk as much as possible. Its kind of a shame really that this is pretty much his only voice acting role on TV (that is not a narrator) so far.
Daniel Riordan- Daniel's voice for the role was pretty good as his performance definitely suited on how Doc is Bruce's firm but genuinely caring voice of reason to him as it is one of Daniel's better performances. (Though is it just me or does Daniel kind of look like what Doc Samson looked like in that game?)
Cam Clarke- A natural choice for this role if I do say so myself as his voice and performance for the role suit his brawny physique and also his calm intellectual nature. (Think of it as a more somber version of his work as He Man in the 2002 series in that franchise.) Anyways its another fine example of Cam Clarke's work and of the voice work in the show.
David Boat- I was pleasantly surprised with this one as David's attempt at playing Doc Samson's cameo as a overly dramatic and overstressed psychiatrist was actually rather amusing. I will say this much as it one one of David's better "one-shot" character performances in that show.
Overall I am not quite sure who to go with here as all of these guys have done pretty well with this role in their own way.

@Music Meister Not sure his should even count considering he appeared in a daydream and was being used as an actual therapist. It was more a parody tan a serious interpretation.

@pete Well Steve's take on character is more serious than anything in Super Hero Squad Show and those still count.

Daniel Riordan, though Shadow Stevens was good, too. Gotta agree with Music Meister that I'm not feeling Cam Clarke for Samson.

1. Daniel Riordan- I think his work is really underrated, it as a strong yet intelligent feel yet a calm and caring side. It was one of the better voices in that game.
2. Shadoe Stevens- Like Daniel's, strong yet intelligent. He was also good for the caring scenes. He's a close second to Daniel.
3. Cam Clarke- I'm a big fan of Cam but I don't think think he was so good for Samson. Don't get me wrong he sounds strong and is deep enough but it's hard to take seriously when hes tryin to sound smart. To me it's like of those jokes where the brute surprises people by explaining something very intelligently. Only reason he's in the lead is because he's in Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
4. David Boat- It's funny on how it's portrayed but I'd need a more serious portrayal to decide on how good it is.
