Voice Compare » Hanna-Barbera Classics » Quick Draw McGraw
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Quick Draw McGraw with sound clips and images.
Quick Draw McGraw was the main character in Hanna-Barbera's third television production. Quick Draw spoke with a southern drawal and was usually depicted as a sheriff in the old west. The cartoons were a take off of the ever popular old westerns of the time. He also was not depicted as the most intelligent character most of the time.

EDITOR'S OPINION
Another real tough call with this one for me. It is hard to go against Daws Butler in any compare but I may actually prefer Greg Burson on this one. For some reason Burson just seems to do the voice more effortlessly than Butler in this one. Both do a fantastic job though don't get me wrong.OptimusSolo

oh Daws Butler, the originator, is the best in my opinion. This isn't to say that Burson wasn't any good but when you grow up watching reruns of the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons, as well as the Warner Brothers cartoons, you naturally tend to have this specific vocal delivery in your mind from all the characters to where a replacement voice will be detected instantly. Frank Welker and the late Don Messick, or others who specialized in vocal sound effects and unique voices perhaps can get away with replacing other actors but when it comes to Daws Butler and Mel Blanc you really can't duplicate their character's voices and have them SOUND the same from someone else. Joe Alaskey comes close with his impressions of Sylvester and Daffy Duck...they sound remarkably similar to Mel Blanc...but for me I'm more drawn to how the characters sounded and if that sound is able to be duplicated accurately. Paul Lynde had a distinct voice but John Stephenson did an able job mimicking that voice from time to time...I can take either delivery of Mildew Wolf because they each have the same vocal cadence.

I actually prefer Greg Burson. His portrayal sounds more natural.
