Voice Compare » Hanna-Barbera Classics » Clyde
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Clyde with sound clips and images.
Clyde is one of the various characters in Hanna Barbera's Wacky Races series from 1968. Clyde is the leader of the Ant Hill Mob and the vehicle they drive is the Bulletproof Bomb which is stylized after a 1920's Limousine Sedan as Clyde and his men are tributes to 1930's Gangsters. Clyde and his mob's favorite tactic is to use their "Getaway Power" which is to basically extend their feet through the car floor and run though they do occasionally use their Tommy Guns against other racers. However while Clyde and his men were never evil per say but when Hanna Barbera made the Wacky Races spin-off The Perils of Penelope Pitstop he and his mob become a lot more heroic as he and his mob save Penelope Pitstop on a regular basis.

EDITOR'S OPINION
Today on the Hanna Barbera VC Section we take a look at the Ant Hill Mob leader... CLYDE! Let us begin...Paul Winchell- Paul's voice for the role was alright but I guess I can understand why Paul didn't try to do a "Gangster" voice (even though Clyde is a fairly blatant example of the Gangster Archetype). But to be fair Paul's performance does suit Clyde's authoritative personality rather well so while it might not be one of Paul's most memorable work but its a pretty good example of his work anyways.
Jim Cummings- While Jim Cummings is by all means an excellent VA who can do great impressions of the late great Paul Winchell's work this isn't quite one of them. Unlike Jim's other attempts at voicing Paul Winchell's roles it is perhaps a little too easy to tell that's not Paul voicing Clyde. But to be fair Jim's voice and performance for the role are decent especially on their own merits but this is just an alright example of Jim's work.
Overall neither one of them are bad but I will go with the late great Paul Winchell a bit more on this one.

@Damolisher Uh not that would be his Dr. Robotnik, Pete, Razoul, Shocker or any other villain you could name. This is more like his Tigger.
