Phil is decent, I wonder if his performance was based on Amell's.
Maybe with more material he'd be more fitting but something just doesn't feel right about his take.

I think that they're all good, but I lean more towards Kin Shriner. Alan Tudyk was good on Young Justice and I've never played Injustice, but I watched some cutscenes and he was very good and I think I'll say he's second.

I'll be honest, only in Lego Batman 3 did I ever actually hear Stephen Amell as Green Arrow (oh sorry, as Arrow).
It's the only time I've heard him focus more on the wit instead of him trying to be Bow and Arrow Batman.

@Music Meister That show plays Oliver so seriously anyway that Stephen doesn't really have a choice but to sound like Bow and Arrow Batman. He seems to have a good sense of humor from what I've seen. It'd be nice if he got to use it, but Arrow just wants to be all about his harsh, tragic life.

@Polyester Funk
I agree writing/direction are the things holding Stephen back, he just needs to play a witty Green Arrow and not a all dark and tragic Arrow.

@Music Meister I like the show, but I wish they would ease up on making everybody have something tragic happen to them so often. Not that it has to be totally lighthearted, but just a little less grim. Flash is doing a good job of having a superhero series that can have a bit more fun. Hope this isn't off-topic.

@Polyester Funk Nothing wrong with the two shows having two different tones.
Music Meister (Moderator)
said at 5:07 PM on Wed Feb 4 2015
it's not the fact the shows have different tones, it's that Arrow wants to be so grim-dark serious that it limits itself in many ways.
said at 6:29 PM on Wed Feb 4 2015
@Music Meister How is it limiting itself? Explain.

I rather not go too off topic in the comments as i already have. I will say I heard the series got better as it went on but I have not seen an episode in a while (I just remember not liking the bland darkness of it).

In honesty I should cut the show some slack and just let poeple enjoy it.
said at 8:45 PM on Wed Feb 4 2015
@Music Meister The first season gets progressively better and the second season is great. Introduces more comic book elements without breaking the tone too much.

Season three hasn't been as strong, but again, it becomes more of a superhero show than the Batman Begins rip-off it started as.

It really depends on which take of GA we're talking here. In terms of New 52 GA: Will Friedle works. But I'm looking forward to hearing Stephen's GA in Lego Batman, I have a feeling it'll be a closer fit to New 52 Green Arrow. Pre-New 52 modern GA back from the dead merged with his spirit: Alan Tudyk. Old school/back from the dead not merged with spirit GA: Kin Shriner.

That's whats hard about judging voices based off comic book heroes, especially DC. Because they're so many different versions, and most can. Fit at least one interpretation of the character.

I have to go with Alan Tudyk. He nailed the role in Injustice, and can probably do better in Infinite Crisis!

Nathan Fillion's been Hal Jordan, Alan Tudyk's been GA, Moneca's been Canary, Baldwin Superman, Maeher's gonna be Nightwing while Glau's been Supergirl and Torres has been WW... Put them in a Justice League and you could have a bonafide Firefly reunion.

Has anyone ever noticed that Green Arrow and Flash/Barry Allen share the same two voice actors, and one of each is the best for their respective characters? For example, I'm talking about Alan Tudyk and Neal McDonough. Alan voiced Flash once, but Neal is the best because of the polls..but it is vice-versa for Green Arrow, where Alan takes the lead over Neal.

To be fair, I could see Stephen's regular voice working for a traditional Green Arrow.
said at 10:13 AM on Sat Oct 26 2013
@TheVengeanceKnight It could. I'm watching the show on Netflix, and he doesn't sound anything like he does in Injustice. He can show emotion as The Arrow proves.

@Lpfan120 He uses a voice changer in his "Arrow" persona in the show, which is why it sounds deeper.

#1 Alan Tudyk
#2 Neal McDonough
#3 Chris Hardwick
#4 Kin Shriner
#5 JAT
#6 Ralph Garman
#7 Norman Alden
#8 David Jennison
#9 Stephen Amell

Norman Alden: He sounds too generic, which is a problem with all superhero voice actors pre-Batman: The Animated Series. 3.5/10

Kin Shriner: Shriner captures the arrogant side fantastically. He also does a good job at the softer and serious side of Green Arrow. 9.5/10

Chris Hardwick: He does a good job, though he does sound a little too serious and forced. 7/10

Ralph Garman: He doesn't have much to work with, but does a good job with what's given to him. 7/10

James Arnold Taylor: He plays a perfect Silver Age Green Arrow, and I think he could do a good job as the Modern Age Green Arrow. 10/10

Neal McDonough: He was fantastic, as he captures both the arrogant and serious side nicely. 9.5/10

Alan Tudyk: Tudyk is perfect for me, as he perfectly captures the soft side of Green Arrow in Young Justice, and the arrogant and jokey side in Injustice. 10/10

David Jennison: Not bad, but he does not have alot to work with. 6.5/10

Alan Tudyk is my favorite and gets my vote, with Neal McDonough and Kin Shriner tied for second and Chris Hardwick at third.

@VctrBnsn After his performance in Injustice, I'm changing my vote to Alan Tudyk. The reason I rated him lower before because I knew he had a great voice for the character, but he never showed his snarky personality. In the game, that personality is present and shines through brilliantly. Really, Green Arrow is the comic relief in that game.
said at 11:00 AM on Wed Jul 31 2013
@VctrBnsn Stephen doesn't have the great comedic timing Alan had in the game, he actually kinda seems phoned in. But it's OK considering it's only a DLC costume.
said at 3:49 PM on Wed Jul 31 2013
@VctrBnsn Why is the voice different for that?
said at 4:10 PM on Wed Jul 31 2013
@pete They got Stephen (the actor who played him in the TV series Arrow) to voice a DLC featuring the costume from the show. I don't think he fits this version, because in the show, he's more like Batman in terms of humor than Green Arrow.
