Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Count Vertigo with sound clips and images.
Count Vertigo is a DC Comics supervillain who first appears in World's Finest Comics #251 (July 1978).  Count Werner Vertigo is the blood descendant of a royal family that ruled a small country in Europe until it was overtaken by the Soviets. Due to his bloodline, he had a hereditary defect in his inner ear that affected his balance. To compensate for this, he wore a device on his right temple that helped counter this. However, the device could also affect other people's balance and distort the perception of up and down. With this power, Vertigo began his criminal career in Star City, where he first tried to steal jewelry that once belong to his royal family. However, he was stopped by Green Arrow and Black Canary, who would stop his many criminal schemes. He was also a member of the Suicide Squad, joining in exchange for a shorter prison term. Later on, he becomes a member of Checkmate, under Amanda Waller.

EDITOR'S OPINION

For the Green Arrow Voice Compare, let's look at one of Green Arrow's supervillains, Count Vertigo. I think all the voice actors did great as their version of Count Vertigo. They all capture Vertigo's haughty, regal tone with the right touch of arrogance.

...Oh my God, Steve Blum is MAGNIFICENT as Count Vertigo! I have to go with him! He's got a great Eastern European accent, a nice depth to it and sounds very arrogant, self-righteous and regal, like what I would imagine Count Vertigo to sound like! Not to mention his "hamminess" is pretty fitting, as he is a very haughty, arrogant man, like Doctor Doom, in some ways...

Which now makes me think Steve Blum would make a good Doctor Doom as well.

I'm going with Greg Ellis. He sounds the most natural of them.

Michael York is pretty good and does a good German accent, but it lacks any kind of sinister feeling it could have had.

Steve isn't bad but this isn't his best work. He basically rehashed his Red Skull voice. Also he sounds less German and more Russian. And much like Music Meister said, he sounds pretty hammy when compared to the other 2.

@LordofEvil96 Vertigo's not German, so it makes no sense for him to sound German.

@TheVengeanceKnight Oh. I thought he was, because if you listen to Michael York's clip when he says "The first think I want" it sounds more like he says Vant.

@LordofEvil96 He's from Vlatava, which is a fictional country, so as long as it sounds foreign, it works. :-P

York isn't bad but I can't help but feel the accent feels unnatural.

Steven is awesome and the accent and regal tone and arrogant is nice but his perfformance is too hammy. I couldn't take his seriously

Greg was simply perfect. The accent felt natural, had a regal tone, was arrgoant and had a rather sinister feel.

All three were pretty good, but I'm gonna go with Steven Blum as his Vertigo was more menacing.

Heh, the only reason Steve Blum's getting the most votes is 'cause he's Steve Blum. Still, he's my favorite, so he gets my vote.
