Voice Compare » G.I. Joe » Zarana
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Zarana with sound clips and images.
Zarana is one of the members of Cobra but she is mainly one of the members of Zartan's Dreadnoks. Zarana is the sister of Zandar and Zartan and alike Zartan she is also a master of disguise however she relies on costumes and trying to act like the person she is trying to imitate. While Zarana is not above trying to use her feminine wiles she does focus more on Infiltration ad Espionage and has too many aliases to name. Zarana' depiction in the stories is generally consistent (except for Hair Color which is either red or pink) but while she is rarely in a relationship she does have her fair share of admirers.
EDITOR'S OPINIONIn this G.I Joe Voice Compare we have a little something for the sole female member of the Dreadnoks... ZARANA! We shall begin the original G.I Joe series Lisa Raggio was the one to voice Zarana here. The Dreadnoks are a Australian-based biker gang and the members have either Australian or British (generally Cockney) accents and Lisa pulls off the accent fairly well. Lisa Raggio's performance was also pretty suiting for Zarana whether she is trying to prove herself to her brother or being demanding to the other Dreadnoks (and her occasional softer side as well). But still Lisa Raggio's overall work as Zarana is pretty good though and a good example of the voice work in the original G.I Joe series. (Not too mention on how while Australian accented men are pretty common in fiction, Australian accented Women are a little less common which does give Lisa Raggio's work as Zarana a little bit more of a novelty.)
While Zarana wasn't as fortunate as Zartan in appearing outside of the original series (but to be fair she did better than Zandar who as of yet is only in the original series) but she was in the DiC G.I Joe series as Lisa Corps gets to take over the role. While I am not bothered about how Lisa Corps Zarana voice is higher (since Raggio's voice wasn't all that low to begin with) but Lisa Corps' attempt at the accent is lighter than Lisa Raggio's and perhaps its a bit too too light. Oh sure Lisa Raggio's attempt at an Australian accent is not really thick but is a bit more noticeable but still aside from that detail Lisa Corps' work as Zarana is decent enough I suppose, not one of the better performances in the DiC series but not the worst. Overall in this battle of the Lisa's I shall go with Lisa Raggio a bit more here.
