Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of The Thing with sound clips and images.
The Thing is the superhero identity of Benjamin "Ben" Grimm. The Thing's super powers include super strength, durability, stamina and resistance to physical injury.

Fred Tatasciore is my pick for the Thing. I prefer his voice in Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes to his voice in Ultimate Alliance 2. Brian Dobson, Dave Boat and Chuck McCann are pretty good too.

Man, this is a tough one. They all do a great job; all have their own spin on this iconic character and they do so well! :) Interesting to note that Fred's version of The Thing on A: EMH is different than his Thing-voice for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.
Also, it's a shame that the video game sound quality distorts Michael Chiklis' voice so much. It sounds fantastic (HAR!) in the movies, but this audio clip does not do it justice. :(

I think Dobson does the gravel and deep voice very well without sounding forced and having what seems like a new york accent.

If I had to choose out of all of them, I'd take Brian Dobson with a close second to Gregg Berger.

joey played thing in the rotss game but chiklis played him in both films and video game 1.

Ted Cassidy - Really good too.
Chuck McCann - The Thing I heard as a kid. Still not too shabby.
Michael Chiklis - Like his movie performance, good.
Gregg Berger - Would like to hear more from him.
Joey Camen - Really good too.
Patrick Pinny - Good.
Brian Dobson - Probably the best.
Dave Boat - That show really let Dave show off his range. Good job.
Fred Tatasciore - He is always awesome.
Unknown Voice Actor - This is how I think John DiMaggio would sound like as Thing.
I'm surprised to say I don't think any of them are bad. I think Clancy Brown can do Thing using his voice as Rhino.
