Voice Compare » Fantastic Four » Nova / Frankie Raye
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Nova / Frankie Raye with sound clips and images.
Nova is one of the supporting characters in the Fantastic Four series in which her comic book debut was in Fantastic Four Volume 1 #244 in 1982. When Frankie Raye agreed to be the new herald for Galactus as she is the Silver Surfer's replacement she became Nova (in which while she already had powers like the Human Torch beforehand her fiery powers were substantially increased thanks to the Power Cosmic that she got from Galactus.) The circumstances of why she ends up becoming Galactus' herald do differ between the stories (whether its to save Earth and/or because she wants to help Galactus) but even when she is being a loyal servant to Galactus she never really became evil though. While any relationship Frankie may have had with the Fantastic Four has normally been severed as Nova she still does work with the Silver Surfer every now & then though.

EDITOR'S OPINIONToday on the Fantastic Four VC section we take a look at what happens when Frankie Raye becomes one of Galactus' Heralds... NOVA! Let us begin...
Leeza Miller McGee- When Frankie actually does become Nova they did add in a slight reverberating vocal effect (which they did pretty well) as her voice for the role does suit the super-being that Frankie has become rather well. While Nova only had a couple of lines in one episode of the series Leeza's performance suited how Nova was in that rather dramatic scene quite well and is a good example of the voice work in the show.
Tara Rosling- Unlike the aforementioned VA here Tara's voice for the role is the same that she did for Frankie before she became Nova (which is not exactly a huge problem per say). However I do feel that Tara's performance actually does improve a bit more as Nova as her performance did suit on how Nova does try to be a good reasonable person (despite the fact that she is working for a not-so good enormous super-being). But while Tara's work on the role is pretty above average in general its a pretty good example of the voice work in the show nevertheless.
Overall I am not entirely sure who to go with here as both of these ladies did pretty well in their own way.
