I'm gonna be honest, none of them really do it for me, but at least Tara and Sam are more pleasant to listen to than Frank and Liam.

Tara sounds really cute, but honestly she just does her Timmy Turner voice except a bit raspier.

Sam Vincent I don’t get why he’s the fan favorite, it’s just a JARVIS clone. The performance and voice isn’t bad, though.

Frank Welker at the time was decent, but it really did not age well with his whiny Gogo Dodo voice.

Liam O’Brien sounds so annoying. I know he was Gollum, but... eugh.

Liam O'Brien once again gives us another odd performance, sounds more like Gollum or Stitch than an actual household robot.

VC thoughts update

I honestly like Tara Strong the most here. I really find her take quite adorable and I love the beeps and boops she does.

Frank Welker works well in the role. He delivers a good performance, but I honestly prefer Tara more. Still, despite the direction, he does deliver a good perfornance and he does sound pretty quirky.

Sam Vincent is not that memorable for me.

Liam O'Brien sounds incredibly odd in the role.

Liam O'Brien sounds like a cross between Gollum & Jar Jar Binks. It's really weird.

Frank sounds okay here. It's just a serviceable, cute, orko-ish voice for a generic cutesy robot. Nothing awful, it gets the job done though.

Sam works well for the loudspeaker, JARVIS type character. Nothing amazing for Sam, but he does well with this version of the character.

Tara is back to the cutesy sound for the character, though I feel her acting is a bit more refined here compared to Frank.

1. Sam Vincent
2. Tara Strong
3. Frank Welker

For a future VA, I'd say Dee Baker or Richard Horvitz

Tara Strong sounds really cute as H.E.R.B.I.E I think I Might have to go with her on this one.

Sam Vincent makes for an alright AI system.

Frank Welker is really grating and annoying in this role.

BONUS: I could see female VA like Laura Bailey, Leah Clark, Tabitha St. Germain or Veronica Taylor pulling off H.E.R.B.I.E really well. For male VA's either Steve Blum, Scott McNeil, Brian Drummond, Tom Kenny, Mitchell Whitfield or Greg Ayres.

Sam feels like the only HERBIE with a personality. A neurotic personality, but still ...

Tara Strong played HERBIE again in Lego Marvel Heroes, and no exaggeration, it was just her Timmy Turner.

Definitely Samuel Vincent.

I wonder if Stephen Merchant would make a good H.E.R.B.I.E.?

@Finister2 I would think Dee Baker could be pretty good as HERBIE

None of them are what I imagined H.E.R.B.I.E. to sound like as I feel he should sound more like a robot but I guess Samuel gets my vote.

Frank & Tara are just awful & girlish (well Tara is a girl).

My choice for H.E.R.B.I.E. would have to be Jon St John using something similar to his E-123 Omega voice or James Arnold Taylor with his Mysterio voice from "Spiderman 2 the game."

My vision of HERBIE is usually a mix of classic little robot(s) and of the WGH version. For that version Kari Wahlgren voices the Herbie bodies, but its always Samuel Vincent that voices the main system so Sam gets my vote.

Tara is a definate second best, and Frank, well I do like him but his Herbie sounds kinda annoying. That's just me though.

I liked Samuel Vincent's version, but I thought Tara Strong was better, so I'm going with her.

Gonna go with Samuel Vincent. HERBIE's probably the highlight of the show. XD

Tara's is probably the only one that's getting a positive response out of me; the voice is simply adorable, along with those purring noises she makes.

Sam's is just indistinct and Frank's, while distinctive enough, isn't the kind of voice that I'd want to listen to for five minutes straight.

@CatsTuxedo The fact that HERBIE in the 70s show was a Replacement Scrappy for Johnny Storm probably didn't help, either.
